We have 6 weeks to go and no name yet, though each of us have a favorite. (different favorites of course!)

The middle name will either be Marie or Catherine, after my late grandmother.

VOTE on my Name List

And if anyone has any suggestions they are welcome, I think you can see by the list that we like more traditional names...and I'm trying to stay away from anything trendy. And I despise creative spellings. :)

Thanks!

EDIT: what is the most common spelling of "Annalise"?

Caitlin Marie (almost my name!)
Allison Marie
Charlotte Marie
Annalise Marie

I don't really like Catherine with any of your first name choices. It's too much of a mouthful I feel. If you want to use such a long middle name, a shorter first name would work better, in my opinion.

Probably Annelise or Annalise. There are several acceptable spellings, but the one I like best is Anneliese.

I love a lot of your names. Meredith is way too Grey's Anatomy for my tastes, and I'm not a huge fan of Melanie or Caitlin, but I think Nora(h) Catherine or Annalise Marie would be gorgeous.

(I like Norah better, but Nora is fine, too. I just like the h.)

PS - According to the Social Security Administration, Annalise is the most common spelling an Annelise and Anneliese have not even been in the top 1000 in the last 18 years.

Anneliese is the german legit spelling.
Annelise is french, I believe, while Annalisa is italian.

. . . Okay?

Sorry, I'm just confused as to what this had to do with my comment.

I was picking up from Anneliese and going from there, expanding your comment :) sorta?

I thought Annelise was Danish, whilst Anneliese was Dutch & German.

I think Annalise is the most common, although personally, I think Anneliese looks prettiest.

Are you going for Ann-elise or Anna-lisa? Different spellings give different pronunciations.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE:
Nora (although I prefer Norah) It sounds nice with either middle name.
Meredith Catherine
Annalise either mn

Melanie and Caitlin are very dated to me (a child of the 80s).

Allison and Charlotte are nice, but I don't love them.

Meredith Catherine is a bit too much "th" for me. But then... I'm not Welsh! :o)

TBH, I don't think Meredith goes well with either Marie or Catherine. One has the double M, one has the double -th. Catherine, IMO, is just the better of the two. I hate alliteration.

I love all of these names, except for Nora and Annalise.

I love Nora(h), and Annalise sounds really pretty. I like Alison... but with one L. Gotta pimp my own spelling. :D

I love Caitlin, but with the millions of different spellings it is insanely popular.

Meredith & Anneliese (my preferred spelling) are both lovely, though Meredith is a little blander.

Suggestions:

Annabel
Isla
Catriona
Ada
Cecilia
Freya
Eliza

- I love Nora and Charlotte!

- I think Nora is the only first name that will work with Catherine, the rest are too long.

LOVE Nora and Annalise! I would be very happy to hear that your final choice was one of these two names.

Caitlin is one of my favourites, but I also like Nora and Meredith. I love Annalise, too - I spell it Annaliese, though.

We named our daughter Anniliese, she passed away at six months gestation..

I think the most common way to spell it is the way you did.
