As a sibset, is Jude and Rhiannon tacky/cheesy/corny or cute/interesting/awesome?

I read this tonight and was wondering what people thought.
I think it's cool, it's better than Jude and Lucy (which is Beatles overkill, to me).

Any other favorite names that came from songs?

I think Jude and Rhiannon are a great combo! It's a subtle nod of the hat to the songs, but not too in-your-face or over the top.

I wouldn't recommend it but I once knew someone named Cecilia after the Simon and Garfunkel song.

Here's a good list of songs with names in the title:

My best friend was named Amanda, after the song by Boston. Her sister was almost Rhiannon, but after she was born, her mom called her Heather instead.

I think Jude and Rhiannon is cute. I am not a fan personally of either name, but I understand the reasoning behind it. I agree that Jude and Lucy is too much also!

I like Wendy (Bruce Springsteen - Born to Run) but no others I can think of.

I like Jude, and I think Jude and Lucy could work as siblings, but not Rhiannon -- it's way too recognizable as the song, while Jude and Lucy could just be a coincidence and are pretty popular names outside of the song realm.

I hate Rhiannon, btw. Jude and Lucy are so much nicer. Rhiannon just seems to be trying too hard to be different.

Other names I like:
Kate - Ben Folds
Delilah - Plain White T's
Taylor - Jack Johnson
Alice - Arlo Guthrie
Eleanor - The Beatles
Elisabeth - Counting Crows
Anna - Counting Crows
Madeline - Hanson
Lucy - The Beatles/Hanson
Jude - The Beatles
James - James Taylor
Jack - John Mellencamp

I disagree -- I would instantly notice Jude and Lucy and think it was overdone, but I didn't even think of Jude and Rhiannon until the question was asked!

I like both Jude and Rhiannon separately anyway.

I also disagree... especially since the movie "Across the Universe" came out, in which the two main characters are Jude and Lucy and the entire soundtrack is comprised of Beatles' songs.

Well, I am Melissa and my sister is Emily, named after Allman Bros and Pink Floyd songs respectively, though they are far lesser-known.

I plan on naming at least one, and maybe all, of my children after songs when I start having kids (and one boy will get Elliott for Elliott Smith). I like both Jude and Lucy, but I would not use them both. I also like Iris (Goo Goo Dolls), Josie (blink-182, as a nn for Jocelyn), and maybe Kate (Ben Folds).

My evil ex-best friend was named Rhiannon after the song so I can't stand it!

I'm always worried that if I use the name Rhiannon (and I want to) people will always assume that I named my daughter after the song. Which is totally wrong. I love the name for other reasons. I've actually never even heard the song before.

Same with Jude (Julian). I love the name, and I would like to use it, but I don't want people to assume that my son is named after the song/the person...although I do love the song.

That said, I think Jude and Rhiannon is an interesting combo. I'm not sure I like it a whole lot...but I think it's interesting.

I've waited all my life for a song that had my name in it and when they finally make a song it turns out to be one about child abuse. I thought, "oh great, how depressing is that???"

true - but it's a beautiful song nonetheless. just a little depressing. (okay, a lot.)

I love Rhiannon! Both for the mythology and for the song. I do like Jude & Rhiannon as a sibset- Jude & Lucy would just be too much.

I also like Prudence, "Dear Prudence," but it's a bit too old fashioned for me...but it's growing on me....

I love song names, and I like both of those names just for themselves as well. I think Jude and Lucy is a little too much Beatles for one family.

I plan on naming a daughter Naomi, after the Neutral Milk Hotel song.

I love the song but I really dislike the name Rhiannon.

I'd way prefer Jude and Layla if you're going for the song thing.

I actually didn't know Rhiannon was from a song.

Yeah, and Jude and Lucy are two of my favourite, favourite names. Along with Eleanor and Penny. And I hate The Beatles.
