If it's the post I'm thinking of, I definitely wouldn't conclude that everybody hates your girl names. I thought you got mostly a positive response, with a few people having things they disliked about the names - same as what most people get when they post!

But anyway... for what it's worth - I like all 4 of these names you're suggesting, especially Anais and Anouk, but I like Anita and Simone too.

I am not too good with suggesting middle names though sorry- probably because I know that my kids won't have middle names (we'll give them a chinese name instead)

Only problem I have with Anais is the erotica writer Anais Nin-not necessarily the best association. Simone is my Siamese cat's name!

I take your point. Anais Nin was a writer of erotica, but also a novelist, poet, and diarist. It depends on how you look at it, but I wouldn't consider it a bad association. I think it's a strong female name.
