Araxie-i'd take this off because...well because its just terrible Karena-not too bad, hits me as a middle name Oriana-I like this one Grace-and this one Anabella-and this one minus the A at the end Eliana-No Rosalynd-I like this one minus the D Briella-No, reminds me of Cinderella Coral-Real World? Maren-No Opal-Is this your grandma's name? Katherina-Minus the A at the end
Araxie - I don't even know how you'd pronounce that... Karena - meh... Oriana - sounds like "Orions Belt", but ok, I guess Grace - extremly trendy right now, but a nice middle name Anabella - not my style Eliana - cute Rosalynd - "Roz" makes a good nn... I think it's cute Briella - "Brielle" is better in my opinion Coral - cute. Maren - not really. Opal - sounds like a fat old woman... I don't know. Katherina - cute middle name perhaps?
I like that you have very different tastes though :)!
Araxie - can't pronounce it Karena - Don't like it Oriana - Like it Grace - too bland Anabella - reminds me of Maribel, Mariballs, Marble etc. (Have a friend named Maribel and we call her a ton of these names) Eliana - Don't like Rosalynd - Don't like Briella - Prefer Brielle Coral - Not my style Maren - Not my style Opal - Not my style Katherina - Prefer Katherine
i think theyre all pretty horrible, except grace, which is so common now i wouldnt use it anyway. oh wait, anabella is really nice too, but i would either take out one of the l's (anabela), or add an n (annabella).
all the others are pretty bad. and made up. just my opinion.
what are you trying to achieve by adding a's to ends of perfectly good names like karen, katherine, and brielle? how would you pronounce katherina? like katerina?
i have a friend of a friend whos name is aureanne (pronounced orr-ee-anne) - which i suspect might be similar to what youre trying to get out of oriana?
Get rid of: Araxie - Doesn't seem to have a very attractive sound to i Grace - I'm tired of it. Boring. Anabella - I love Annabel, but don't see that the extra -a does anything good for it. Simpler is better. Rosalynd - Don't like the look of this spelling at all. Briella - Don't like the sound.
Opal - Nms but fine Katherina - Nice Karena - Nice, I actually prefer Carina or Karina, but this is ok. Oriana - Ok Coral - Nice, I like this. Maren - Nms but fine. Eliana - Pretty
Araxie: I don't care for this one. Karena: Karina is better. Oriana: Just no. Grace: Lovely name. Always has been. Anabella: Annabelle is better. Eliana: Too many vowels. Rosalynd: The "d" is too much. Rosalyn is nice, though. Briella: Uhh... no. Coral: This is nice, I like it. Maren: Very nice. Opal: Love it. Katherina: Doesn't do anything for me. Katerina is nice, Katherine is nice.
Araxie It's just bad. Karena Corinna, sure. Karina, yes. Karena? no. Oriana Just bad. Grace - I like it. But I think I like it more as a middle name. Anabella Annabelle, yes. Eliana Too many different ways to pronounce it. Rosalynd Rosalyn, sure. But no D. Briella Coral - Alright, but will always remind me of the bitch from the real world. Maren - I actually knew a girl named Maren, and it's a pretty cute name. And you could pair it with Grace as a middle name. Opal I don't like naming children after rocks. Katherina Katrina, Katerina. No H at least.
Araxie Karena - i like this, but i prefer Corrina. not too different than yours. Oriana - no Grace - very plain Anabella - amabella, too! cute. Eliana - i know a girl named this & her n.n. is lilie Rosalynd - no Briella - no Coral - yes, i love coral Maren - very androgynous. i love it Opal - love! Katherina - i know a girl named katherina, goes by katy. don't like it
Araxie: I like the way this word looks but I dont know if I actually like it as a name. Karena: I like Karenna more. Like Karenna Gore. Oriana: Maybe Coriana? I don't like Oriana by itself. Grace: My favorite on your lists. Anabella: OK Eliana: ditto Rosalynd: such a pretty name, why the kreatyv spelling? Rosalind. Briella: dislike intensely Coral: love Maren: love Opal: love Katherina: love!
Karena (but prefer it spelled Karina) Anabelle (id love to name my daughter this its a great name! works for baby and adult) Eliana - same as anabelle Katherina
Araxie- It just doesn't flow to me. It is, however, the sort of name that could grow on you if paired with the right last name. Karena- I think this looks pretty, but how do you pronounce it? ka-REN-ah or ka-RAY-na? I like the first pronunciation and dislike the second. Oriana- I like this one. Grace- I don't normally like simple names, but I actually really love the name Grace. Anabella- I'm not so big on this name. Eliana- Pretty, but not my style. Rosalynd- I don't think I've ever liked this name. Briella- I actually can't stand this name, maybe because I've seen too many Brielles and Brinas. They all just seem incomplete, like awkward shortening of the more common names Gabrielle/a and Sabrina. Coral- I think this name is pretty. Maren- I think this name is pretty, too. Opal- This name might work if paired with the right last name, but I really don't like it much. Katherina- I prefer other variations, such as Katharina and Katrina, so I'm not very big on this name.
Araxie~I like the way it looks but I'm not sure how to pronounce it. Karena~would take off list Oriana~I love it Grace~off list...to old fashion for my taste Anabella~I like it Eliana~I like it Rosalynd~doesn't appeal to me at all..off the list Briella~I love it Coral~love it Maren~off the list because it sounds boring to me Opal~Off....reminds me of an old person Katherina~I like it.
Araxie--just sounds awful and it makes me think of arachnid. Karena--nice Oriana--I like Ariana better Grace--okay, but plain...maybe as a middle name? Anabella--okay but a mouthful, I'd prefer Annabell Eliana--mm it's okay I guess. Sounds too mature for a kid though. Rosalynd--ooh I really like this one!! Briella--very pretty Coral--makes me think of Finding Nemo (the mom was Coral) Maren--ick, makes me think of marlin or marinate Opal--that's okay Katherina--that's cute but a mouthful so I'd def give her a nn
I actually like a great deal of these names, except for the spelling. Names I'd veto:
Araxie: my only estimate of how to pronounce this sounds awful. Karena: Ehhh...nothing special about it Coral: I just don't like it. I prefer Cora. Opal: Too old ladish for my tastes.
Names I like and why:
Oriana: I've always thought this was a lovely name, with a pretty meaning and history. It's quite underused. Rosalynd: Spelled Rosalind, it's up there on my list of favorites. Maren: Very cute...
As for the rest...
Grace: Simple, sweet. Makes a good middle name. Anabella: I prefer Annabel, but nothing wrong with this version. Eliana: Could be extremely pretty if you aren't put off by having a million pronounciations. Briella: I like Brielle, except for the made up sounding factor. Katherina: It's alright. I prefer Katharina since it's from The Taming of the Shrew
Araxie - Eek. that's possible one of the worst names ever. Is it made up?
Karena - Karina, maybe? KArina's much better. This one looks like Karen that someone stuck an a to for no reason.
Oriana - it's not objectionable, but I don't really like it.
Grace - nice, but it's everywhere.
Anabella - it looks weird with one n. Annabella, or Annabel, would be better, but I still hate this name - it sounds frilly and stuck-up.
Eliana - Meh. I think I've seen Iliana, which looks better.
Rosalynd - yuck. But spell it Rosalind, it it suddenly becomes nice.
Briella - I think Brielle is a terrible name, but adding an a to it makes it worse.
Coral - hmmm.... I kind of like this one.
Maren - This one's not bad... I knew a girl named Maran once (accent on first syllable, which rhymes with car). It suited her (although she had to tell people how to pronounce it every time).
Opal - I have a soft spot in my heart for this name, but I wouldn't use it (I like its look and meaning better than its sound...)
Katherina - why the a? There are plenty of non-made-up names based on Katherine that end in a. Katarina, Katrina, etc... Your version looks strange and I wouldn't be sure how to pronounce it.
They all sound a bit strange to me - and a bit made up. However, I really like Anabella, Katherina, Grace and Rosalynd, although I would spell it Rosalind.
Most of the people in this community are afraid of "different sounding" names. I think it's sad because there might be some names you love, but you're not going to get much positive comment on them, because they're unusual.
I know an Oriana (spelled just that way) and I like the name. She is a confident and attractive girl.
The only name I would take off of the list (both as a middle name, and as a first name) is Grace. Grace is off the charts trendy right now and I would not touch it with a ten foot pole. Yes it's beautiful, but you'll look like a huge copycat if you use it.
Good luck with your decisions. Take everyone's advice (including mine) with a grain of salt and go with what you love.
Feeling "eh" about: Oriana (I'm not a fan of anything that sounds like it starts with "oral") Coral (again w/ the oral) Eliana (this is ok, just not my style) Briella Opal (like the idea more than the actual name) Katherina (what about KATERINA?)
Please don't name your kid ARAXIE, it conjures up anorexia, arachnid, anthrax -- it looks cooler than it sounds.
Anabella- ooooh beautiful, prefer Anabel but still love Anabella. Rosalynd- Very pretty Oriana- I like most 'ana' names- i like this too, but not the spelling...i like Auriana/Auriela au=Or) I also like Aurelia (or-ee-lee-uh) Grace- blah blah boring, i'm sick to death of this name! But i can't say that there's nothing wrong with it. Eliana-As i said i like 'ana' names, but i don't particuarly like this one. Karena- Never liked this name, too harsh Katherina- I don't like Katherine in any form- apart from polish (Kasia) & slavic (Katya) Briella- Don't like at all. Bri names are goijng to be very dated in a couple of years. Opal- Quite like it but it can't be shortened to anything remotely usable. Coral- Old ladies name.. Maren- Don't like it... ryumes with barren. Araxie- sounds like a hybrid of arachnid & anthrax. you want your daughter to be named after spiders & poison!?
Araxie - It just looks uncomfortable. Karena - I like Karena, not my style but a pretty name Oriana - Oar-ee-ana? Dont like it Grace - LOVE LOVE LOVE Anabella - I love Annabelle Eliana - Its ok Rosalynd - Not my style, not really a fan Briella - really dislike this name Coral - its ok Maren - One of my recent favorite Opal- not a huge fan Katherina - Katherine is fine, but not with an a.
my favorites: karena, grace, anabella, briella and maren.
araxie- too weird, i don't even know how to pronounce it. oriana- sounds pretty, but doesn't look very nice. eliana- just don't like it. rosalynd- don't like it. coral- i wouldnt take it off the list, but i don't love it. opal- ditto with coral. katherina- just don't like it.
I like Grace and Katherina (although I prefer Katherine)
I don't like Rosalynd spelled that way, but Rosalind (with the i) is a nice name.
I would definitely take off Araxie and Maren, just because those don't sound like real names to me. And Briella, because to me it sounds kind of overly trendy and forced.
Names I like: Karena Grace Eliana Rosalynd Opal Katherina - But I'd change it to either Kathrine or Kattarina.
Names I would take off:
Araxie - Reminds me of arachnid, and I hate spiders. Oriana - Kind of reminds me of orifice and Orion. Anabella - Cow name Briella - Sounds like a cheese Coral - In theory it's a good name, but it would be just too weird to wander around yelling out 'Coral! Coral! Where are you?' Probably a cultural thing, but people here would assume you were talking about coral from the reef and think you were crazy. Or they'd assume you were looking for a pet. Maren - It looks like it's met to be another name like Maureen or Marian and it just doesn't work. Also reminds me of marinate.
