How is Anais pronounced?

I don't really like any of these:/ They're fine names, just not my style.

I want to pronounce Anais in a way that makes it sound like someone is saying "an ass" with a Southern accent, although baby names world says that's not how it's pronounced.

My friend and I were discussing Anais today (can't figure out how to do the double dots, sorry!) - how exactly is the "proper" way to pronounce it?

I pronounce it Anna-ease.

I guess if someone were to actually use that name, it would cause pronunciation issues ;)

The first time I saw the name Anais, I thought it was pronounced Anus. A writer... Anais Brown...

haha no don't worry. my replies are usually long. I do French at school, so I really wanted to give it its own syllable, like, say, 'ebai' (double dots) is more or less eba-i, and 'inoui' likewise (in-oo-i). I wasn't sure, though, so I thought I'd ask. Yay for being bilingual and making educated guesses :)
