If I'm having a girl, I've been thinking more and more about the name Cora. WDYT?

Also, she'd be younger sister to Cressa. Are the names too close?

Obviously they're both "C" names, which I'm not sure about (I hate when families stick with one letter only, but if I had another, I wouldn't follow the pattern, probably). So, regardless of them both being "C" names, do they work ok together?

I'm not really that fond of the name Cora. That being said, I think they sound fine together :)

i think they sound alright together, but the fact that they're cs and then both end in the a sound might make it weird if later you have another daughter and call her elizabeth, you know?

I think there are much prettier C names.

I do really like Cressa, but Cora feels rather blah to me.

I think of apple core..

I love Cora (but short for Coralie)
But.
You do make an excellent point. I'd not thought of that before.

I personally don't like Cora, but I think Cora & Cressa go together just fine.
Don't worry about the fact that it starts with the same letter...I think it would be different if you had 10 children that all started with a 'C' ;)

I don't like it when siblings have repeated letters. Coming from the only K name with two older sisters who have M's, I always felt like the odd one out. That being said, I think Cora is a cute nickname, but I would have said the same about Cressa.

I normally say "Cora-line", but I think that's because of my Grandma. My name is Nicola (like Nicholas) but she always called me "Nicolein" since "lein" is a German suffix meaning "little".

There's a Neil Gaiman book called Coraline, and I hear that in my head as "Cora-leen" because that seems to be a more British pronounciation.

I think I like the long "i" sound better.

My husband desperately wants to name our baby Glencora (after Trollope's Palliser novels). It's a very old Scots name. I like it too, but one of the collies already has that name!

I like Cora, but I don't like the way it sounds with Cressa. It could be worse, but it's still very matchy. I think it's the fact that it starts AND ends with the same letter. If it was one or the other (ie, a name that ends in the 'a' sound or a name that started with 'c') I think it would be a little better, but not both.
