tacky or cute?
May. 22nd, 2008 03:52 pmbefore DH and I got pregnant, we fell in love with the girl's name Evelyn Noel ( my grandmother's middle name and his mother's maiden name). Now we are pregnant, due around Christmas. (Yay! Baby!) we think the double meaning behind the name is cute, but my MIL says we should save the name for another baby cause it is too tacky. WDYT?

Date: 2008-05-22 08:06 pm (UTC)That's one reason I'd be against to save it for another kid, it makes sense for this one right here!

But really, Noel as a middle name (or Noelle) is a sweet idea for a Christmas baby. I know a Brian Nicholas who was born on Christmas (as in St. Nicholas). He's 21 and loves his name.

Date: 2008-05-23 06:25 pm (UTC)You could actually use the entire name for a boy. Evelyn with a long initial "E" is a man's name as well, especially in Britain. Like Evelyn Waugh. (Funny story: he was married to a woman named Evelyn as well, and friends used to refer to them as the "he-Evelyn" and the "she-Evelyn"
