is anyone here into alternative spellings and/ or making up your own names....taking a name that you sort of like and changing it around .. like..exapmple.. i liked the name "jessenia" but i changed around to become "jessiƱa"

I think it depends. There are lots of spellings for Katherine/Catherine/Kathryn or Kaitlyn/Caitlin, so you can do what you like. I don't mind something like Ashleigh, even. (Or Megann, but not Meaghanne.) Telling someone "with 2 n's" isn't a problem. But some of them, like Mashel, Vinessah, Malyssa, etc get kind fo out of control. Like someone said above, the kid will constantly be correcting people on how to spell his or her name. My name is Meredith, which people inevitably spell wrong anyway. I once met someone named Meredythe, and someone named Meridith. Now, if the regular spelling tends to escape people, why would you do that?
