Hey all! I looove names, so, yay! We all have something in common! :) I also apparently love exclamation points and smilies, but that probably won't last long so don't worry. Anyway, I've loved names forever. I still have some of my old notebooks from 4th grade where I wrote out lists of names I liked and different spellings. So, yeah, I'm a name-o-phile (I used to know the word for that but I don't anymore).
Just as an introduction, here's my current list of favorite names. My husband and I are currently in the process of trying for our first, so it'll be awhile before we need to chose, and I'll probably change choices a million times. Feel free to pan or praise 'em, of course :)

Boys:
Arthur Christopher (after people who're important to us)
Vincent (cuz it's a cool name, especially if you played Final Fantasy 7)
Cassian (rhymes with passion, Cash would be a nickname)

Girls:
Lilika
Serah (yeah, it's a real name and it mean Morningstar. It's not a variant of Sarah)
Corinna (Rin as a nickname)

Whatta y'all think? :)

Arthur Christopher is the only name I can stomach. And what's your source on the meaning of Serah?

Not nuts about any of them, and Rin and Vincent together would be a bit much IMO.

They're from Sesame Street.

Arthur Christopher - I like this a lot. I love the name Arthur.
Vincent - Never much cared for this. Makes me think of some sleezy guy with chest hair and gold jewelry.
Cassian - Too weird

Lilika - I LOVE this name, have it on my list too.
Serah - More trouble than it's worth. You'd have to explain it's not Sarah way too often.
Corinna - Fine

I like the name Christopher, not too crazy about Arthur. And I prefer Corina over Corinna.

Starry starry night...

Vincent is cool because of Vincent Van Gogh of course, but also Vincent Price. (Among other things, Vincent Price is the voice of Michael Jackson's 1982 epic, "Thriller.")

I think Corinna is beautiful.

Arthur Christopher- I;m not hugely keen on Christopher but i love Arthur.
Vincent- oh i don't think this is a cool name! just not my style... Vinny is awful.
Cassian- I know a Cassian that pronounces it Cas-ee-un. The little boy in question is a monster so i have bad association everytime i think of the name, but i do like it.

Girls:
Lilika- hm... looks made up. Lily on it's own it way way way nicer.
Serah- I dont even like Sarah...
Corinna- Don't like this either.

Love all your boys' names - although Vincent has terrible nickname potential... If no-one ever used Vinnie, this would be a pretty great name :)
And Cassian needs to be rediscovered. It's got a great history behind it.

Not a fan of any of your girls' names - Corinna is all right, though.

I once knew a girl whose nmae was spelled Corinna, but she pronounced it Core-in. It really bugged me, and so I'm unfairly prejudiced against the name.

Serah is still pronounced like Sarah, yes? Even though it's a different name, people will just think it's a you neek spelling.

Lilika is alright. It looks a little made up, but it flows nicely.

I like all you boys names, esp. Cassian.

Cassian is neat, I like it but wouldn't probably use it myself. All the other names are bad, IMO.

Boys:
Arthur Christopher - It's better reversed, ie: Christopher Arthur
Vincent - No, and everyone will associate it with the dumb guy from Harry Potter.
Cassian - This is a really interesting name. I like it.

Girls:

Lilika - How is it pronounced?
Serah - Mmm, okay I guess.
Corinna - It's not horrible, but it's not my sort of thing. I think I prefer Corinne.

I don't think everyone would associate Vincent with Harry Potter.
I would think most people know him as Crabbe.
They certainly wouldn't associate "Vincent" with Harry Potter more than "Hermione" or "Ron".

Well, maybe not everyone, but there are a lot of people who would know.
I don't think Hermione and Ron are really relevant here.

I'm a big HP fan, and I definitely wouldn't associate Vincent with Harry Potter. Van Gogh would be a more likely association, I never even thought about Crabbe until reading [livejournal.com profile] serendipitous13's comment.

Well I know a lot of people who would automatically think of Vincent Crabbe, but ok, fine, I overreacted.

for cash nicknames, i prefer the full name of cassius (im not sure what the proper spelling is of that, but i think theres an e and an o in there somewhere) to cassian.

I like Arthur and Serah.

Cassian would make a awesome name for a character. I can see it now... Space priate (since it would be Star Wars.) dark brown hair, light blue eyes, tall and handsome.

*giggles like a fangirl. ohh I like the name now.

Boys:
Arthur Christopher- I like it.
Vincent- Eh. It's an all right name just nothing I would use.
Cassian- Again, nothing I would use.

Girls:
Lilika- Don't much care for it.
Serah- I like this.
Corinna (Rin as a nickname- I like this too although I think I like Serah a bit more.

Vincent and Corinna. Serah's okay, too, but people will probably misspell it as "Sarah" a lot.

I love Arthur Christopher :-)

Arthur's one of my favourite names.

As for girls' names, I really like Corinna. I have a good friend called that.

I like Cassian. It's different but not too weird. Corrina's okay, depending on how you pronounce it. I'm assuming Core-in-ah?

I've always loved the name Vincent. I don't like Vinny though. I really like Cassian too :)

i really, really like cassian and having the nickname cash... i think that's so cool. i also really like corinna. serah is interesting, i've met someone with that name before... another name that sounds similar is serala (or sarala) which is a hindu name, like "sara" with an extra "la". i like it at least... i don't know if i'd use it, but i think it's neat. :)

I like Corinne better than Corinna. What do you think of Corinne?

Arthur Christopher - sounds really dull and I hate the name Arthur.
Vincent - I hate this name and would you really name your child after FF7??
Cassian - sorry but I also hate this. Sounds like a "Fabio" type name, like the kid's gonna be on the cover of crappy romance novels or at the very least on a soap

Lilika - sounds totally made up, doesn't sound like it flows at ALL
Serah - I like the meaning but no, too difficult, she'll be explaining her name her whole life
Corinna - eh Im kinda neutral about this name.
