What do you think of the boy name Kenyon? I never heard it before until I came across it in a baby name book recently. It has a horrible meaning ("blonde hair"), but I thought it sounded neat. Any thoughts?

It's on my short list. I really like it.

People always hate it when I post it though.

FWIW, it's the name of a liberal arts college in Ohio.

Hi there. I clicked over to look at your icons, since I like the one you're using now, and I damn near imploded. FRANCES THE BADGER! I have NEVER EVER met another person who knew and loved those books, besides my parents, and my little cousin (and I was the one who gave her those books in the first place.)
You are AWESOME. Did you make it? Is it stealable?
I love all of the childrens books icons, really, especially Goodnight Mush (the mush and the stuff that rhymes with mush were totally my favorite parts. Heh.)

Hi, you're my new favorite person! *grin* My dad, when telling me to be careful, still says "You better be bewareful." Hee.

I live on East Kenyon Ave, so... I always think of my street.

Then I think of Kenya.

But it's not a horrible name. It does have a sort of strange appeal.

Kenya and Canyon are what it reminds me of, but it's not a bad name.

I was going to say, hybrid of Kenya and Canyon.
Can't decide if I like it or not. I guess that means I don't dislike it, lol.

Same here, sounds like Kenya and Canyon. It's not a totally horrible name, but I'm not overly fussed on it either.

I heard it as a surname in a book about five years ago and fell in love with it. I think it's great. :)

Eh, not my thing, I don't care for it much, sounds too much like Kenyan (the nationality) for me to think much of it as a name. I agree with the others though, it's not a horrible thing to name a kid.

I used to know someone named Kenyon. It's funny that it means "blond hair" cause the kid I knew was black. LOL On a slight variation, I also knew a girl named Kenyala (also black). I never really thought about the country Kenya or any of the other things people are associating with the name. We even have a store named Kenyon's in my city, but I never put two and two together, I just associated the name with the person. Does that make sense? Both nice names!

Wouldn't use it, but I like it. I think it's unique name for a person. :-)

It's a great surname.

I wouldn't use it as a first name, however.

Sounds like Canyon.. or Kenya with an n. & the nn would be Ken which is such an old mans name.. 'he killed kenny'- southpark.
Nope, too many bad things about it!

I like it, but I do have to agree that it reminds me a lot of the nationality...if that's not an issue for you, then I say go for it.

I dislike it because it sounds like the nationality. So hearing it makes me think the kid will be Kenyan, but then the one I knew had blond hair, and it was weird, haha.
