My hubby and I have spent the last week or so narrowing down our list of girl names. We really like Celia and Rowan either as a first or middle name.

So, here are my questions:

1) Which name do you like better as a first name, Celia or Rowan?

2) What names sound good with Rowan? (With Rowan as first or middle)

3) What names sound good with Celia (with Celia as first or middle)

I love Rowan, it's on my short list of favorite names. The potential middle names I have in mind are Claire, Sage and Harper.

With Celia I like Jane, Evelyn and Rose.

Aww, Celia Noelle is reallllly pretty. I like the idea of the middle name having an L. I like all the ones you listed that have an L in them.

Do you think a lot of people are USING Rowan, or just talking about it?

I suggested Celia Rowan to my hubby as well, but he thinks the two names are too unusual to go together.

Yeah, I think he is more worried about two unusual names together. He says that if we use one unusual name, the other name should be something "normal" in case our child doesn't like having an odd name.

The boys name thing doesn't bother me, but my name is Devon, and you hear it on both boys and girls so Im kind of used to it.

celia! definitely! so much prettier and more classic than rowan, which just sounds trendy and masculine to me. i'd definitely go with celia; rowan sounds okay as a middle name if you're set on it, but i definitely wouldn't go with that as a first.
