Other names as nicknames
Apr. 28th, 2008 09:16 pmThis thought came about when i recieved a really sweet comment in my LJ. i had written a post about nicknames after reading everyone's opinions here in a post about them.
My friend told me if she had to pick a nickname for me, she would call me Gloria. Her reason for this is because she said whenever she talks to me and we're talkin' about TBAA or just our faith in general, my frend can feel my connection to the actress who plays Gloria and how much I myself shine with the light and truth of God's love. My friend asked me if it was okay if she calls me Gloria as a nickname and I said yes.
Before everyone starts sending rude comments my way in light of what I wrote above, the only reason I posted that bit about my faith is because I wanted to explain what happened better. That is the only reason I did it.
Now my question is, in certain situations, for certain people you know really well, what does everyone think about using other names altogether for nicknames?
