i knew a very fair, red-headed mexican woman once whose name was blanca.

blanche is (or was) was a rather popular name in french-speaking places. it's kind of old-ladyish now, i suppose. all the blanches i know over there are ancient now. ;]

i do too and i'm not actually sure why some of these are included. i was also surprised to read that aubrey is the 152nd most popular name girl name in the u.s., according to some website. apparently, it's germanic and means elf. hah.
