two names i heard recently...

sawyer (on a little baby boy) - i have been falling in love with it lately, and was shocked when i heard this dad call his son that last night because i had been thinking about it so much. i am fairly certain what my childrens last name will be, and sawyer does NOT go with it at all, but i like it, so it may be resigned to a pets name.

ellex - just saw it written down, and not sure if its a boy or a girl. i have been pronouncing like you are saying the letters "L.X." but i guess perhaps it is pronounced more like alex but with an el sound at the beginning, like el-icks? i dont know. i also dont know if it was short for something. either way, i dont like it.

what do you guys think?

I really like Sawyer!

I'm not a fan of Ellex though. I pronounce it like Alex, but interestingly enough not like El-ix. I guess it has something to do with my Dutch accent, because I don't pronounce Madison & Madysyn the same either.

Ellex, no.

Sawyer is really nice, though. Wouldn't go well with my future last name, either!

i think sawyer is nice. i have a feeling it's catching on though.
i've never heard ellex. i can't really see it for a girl, but could for a boy. i think it's alright. i wouldn't use it, but i don't mind it.

Sawyer- it makes me think of Lost and still works better as a last name imho.
thumbs down on Ellex, it's a non-name.

Urk. I dislike all first names like Sawyer, Carter, Tucker, etc.

Wish we had more of a story on Ellex. Maybe the parents wanted something that would sound "silly" backwards...? Okay, long shot. Wonder what the real deal is.

Backwards it would be Xelle, which is kind of cute depending on how you would pronounce it.

I read it as L.X. I kind of like it, but I don't think I'd use it.

Sawyer is too popular right now.

Ellex would be cool if it weren't so made-up. Whoa, that just made me think of spelling Alex with two L's... Allex. That looks really cool. But way too kr8tyv.

I keep wanting to say Alex instead of Ellex.
