Apr. 27th, 2008 12:32 pmtwo names i heard recently...
sawyer (on a little baby boy) - i have been falling in love with it lately, and was shocked when i heard this dad call his son that last night because i had been thinking about it so much. i am fairly certain what my childrens last name will be, and sawyer does NOT go with it at all, but i like it, so it may be resigned to a pets name.
ellex - just saw it written down, and not sure if its a boy or a girl. i have been pronouncing like you are saying the letters "L.X." but i guess perhaps it is pronounced more like alex but with an el sound at the beginning, like el-icks? i dont know. i also dont know if it was short for something. either way, i dont like it.
what do you guys think?

Date: 2008-04-27 05:06 pm (UTC)I'm not a fan of Ellex though. I pronounce it like Alex, but interestingly enough not like El-ix. I guess it has something to do with my Dutch accent, because I don't pronounce Madison & Madysyn the same either.

Date: 2008-04-27 06:40 pm (UTC)i've never heard ellex. i can't really see it for a girl, but could for a boy. i think it's alright. i wouldn't use it, but i don't mind it.

Date: 2008-04-27 08:19 pm (UTC)Wish we had more of a story on Ellex. Maybe the parents wanted something that would sound "silly" backwards...? Okay, long shot. Wonder what the real deal is.

Date: 2008-04-27 08:50 pm (UTC)Ellex would be cool if it weren't so made-up. Whoa, that just made me think of spelling Alex with two L's... Allex. That looks really cool. But way too kr8tyv.
