Thoughts?

1)I've heard 2 of my friends say in the past month that they were going to name their baby Juno. I've always thought it was cute, but too out there. However, I hate how popular I know it will become because of the movie. What are your thoughts on it?

2)I like these names for a girl:
-Anna
-Jewel
-Micah

I thought the movie was cute, but I don't like the name.

I love Anna. Jewel sounds a little treashy to me. Micah is a male name.

I odn't like the name Juno, but I like the nickname June Bug, I thought that was very cute, but I don't like any June related names.

I also love the name Anna, but it is too popular for me to use. Jewel reminds me of the singer and I can't stand her. Micah is a boys name and should only be a boys name.

I like Anna, especially if you choose to use it as the first part of a two part name.. i/e Anna-Kate, Anna-Marie, Anna-Leigh, Anna-Lynn etc

Jewel: All I can think of is "Whoo will say-ee-ay-ve your sould"

Micah sounds like more of a boys name to me, but thats just my opinion... It's not a bad name though. I do LIKE it, just not for a girl.

Ehhh I'm iffy on Juno. While the movie would certainly be what most people associated it with now, it will always remind me of the psychotic Roman goddess. So not exactly a great namesake. But I do like the sound of it.

if the movie wasn't so popular i'd love juno. when i first heard it for the movie i thought it sounded adorable, and i like how they call her junebug. BUT it is going to be wildly popular.

I think it's kind of cute, but I don't love it and I certainly wouldn't name my child that, especially with the movie's popularity. Had it been less well-known, it would be cool.

I like the name Juno, I have ever since I read it in...was it Swiss Family Robinson? I can't remember, a book I read when I was about ten. I liked the movie okay and it didn't change my opinion of the name. I doubt I'd use it for a kid, but possibly for a pet.

I love Anna, dislike Jewel (it sounds tacky to me) and think of Micah as a boy's name.

Also, I think the association with the movie will die out in a couple of years. Years back I worked with a kid named Carlito and didn't associate it with the movie Carlito's Way until someone made a comment to that effect. So pop culture trends don't tend to affect how I feel about names - they generally aren't very lasting. If you really love a name I don't see why it matters if it's popular or not; I've never really understood that. Which I guess is a good thing, as two of my favorite names (Isabel and Lily) have become very common in recent years.

I LOVED the name Juno...until the movie came out. I probably would have considered it as a middle name (a little out there for a first name, IMO), but not now. :(

i remember when i first started hearing about juno the film, i was like 'why is it called juno? i dont get it' it wasnt until way later that i learned that juno was the girls name. i had never heard it as a name before, i thought it odd, but once i saw the movie, and actually HEARD the name in use, i really started to like it. and i ADORE junebug! cutest nickname ever.

that said, i would never use it. and i dont think i ever would have, popular movie or not.

i love anna, and micah is only so-so, and only on a boy.

The first Micah I ever met was a girl and that was twenty years ago...and she was a teen at the time, so its not weird on a girl to me.

I like Anna and Jewel, but all the Micah's I've known are boys and I hate hate hate boy names on girls. It's like "WHOA!! You're a girl!" on first meeting them. Or "What are your kid's names?" "Micah and Rachel" "Oh! A boy and a girl! How lucky!" "No, they are both girls" "Oh."

1. Haven't seen the movie, but I never really liked that name. I'd prefer June. Juno first and foremost makes me think of Sylvia Sydney's character from Beetlejuice. "I'm not your coach! He survived!"

Juno = the movie for me. And I hated the movie :P

I like Anna, especially as a nn. for Susannah which one of my favourite names. The rest I don't like.

I actually really love the name Juno, but I don't know if it could ever be used now without people thinking it was 'cause of the movie. I would never name my kid Damien and that was like, thirty years ago. And I wasn't even alive.

I like the name Juno, but any kid born around the release of the movie is going to hear a lot of "Heh heh your parents must really have liked that movie." So I wouldn't even consider it.

Anna is very pretty.
Jewel has always struck me as a stage name.

Juno is okay, but I think the connotations with the movie are really strong. I love June, though. Micah to me is definitely a boy's name, and Jewel just reminds me of the singer from the 90s. Oh, and Anna is really nice.

I think the name Juno is too cutesy.

Anna is lovely and classic, Jewel makes me think of the singer, and Micah is a nice name for a little Jewish boy. :)
