[identity profile] dancing-crazy.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
Theo is currently, and has been for a while, on the very top of my boys names. However, I'm wondering about the spelling for the full name. I like Theodor because it's how Dr. Seuss spelled it, and I have a thing for Dr. Seuss. But does it seem incomplete?

Also, middle name ideas would be welcome.

I'm bad at combos, but I think it looks incomplete. :-/

I like Theo - that's cute. :) And I think it would have a much more personal meaning if you spell it the way you want to. If you're not bothered by many people misspelling it throughout your son's life (which is inevitable if you leave off the 'e'), you should just do what you like. Or, if you think he'll go by Theo most of the time anyway, then maybe it doesn't matter so much.

As someone who constantly has my name misspelled, I can say that I'd rather have it spelled this way since it has more meaning and have people misspell it than have it spelled the 'right' way without as much significance.

It does look incomplete. I think I'd add the e.
Theodore James
Theodore Elliot
Theodore Malcolm?
Sorry, I'm no good at middle names. :(

Something about "Theo" seems to be an ethnic name to me.

I think it does look incomplete as Theodor. I mean, I like that it is Dr. Seuss-ish, but it just feels like a typo and I want to add an e with a red pen. I'd go with Theodore.

(PS I love you)

I seem to be very much in the minority - but I love Theodor and don't think it looks at all incomplete without the e, particularly when attached to said namesake.

Also, middle names ideas, I feel Theodor should be partnered with something quite classic.:

Theodor Samuel
Theodor Eliezer (Middle name has enough es for the first ;)
Theodor Wilfred (this one feels very historic European to me, I love it :)
Theodor Nataniel (double meaning name - both mean 'gift of God :)
Theodor Amidor (well...probably not, but it makes me smile :)

Theodore Alexander
