[identity profile] pythianlegume7.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
Okay here are the rules. Post your favorites in the comments, however many names or comboes that you want. However, if you post, you must respond to at least THREE other peoples' names by replying to their comment (at least three, but you can do as many as you want). If you're one of the first three to post, come back later when more people have posted in order to reply. Try to keep it so that each of the comments have an equal amount of replies, so some people don't get all of the critiques.

If you don't like getting your name choices critiqued, don't post your names :). You can still respond to other peoples' names if you want. Obviously naming is a personal taste thing; still, I like hearing what other people think of my choices and I'm sure other people do too. After all, its what this community is for! Just try not to be offensive or get offended too easily.

I hope this isn't too complicated, I don't think I worded myself very well...

EDIT TO ADD: You don't need to respond to each of the names if you don't want to. You can do a general comment if you'd prefer. Its up to you!

Amanda Madelen (Norwegian spelling. Still unsure if I want Madelen or Madeline)
Andrea Michelle
Angelica Elizabeth
Emily Isabelle
Lisa Camilla
Bianca Elise
Aisha Nicole

David Alexander
Daniel Andreas (Norwegian name, again)
Tobias
Gabriel Mathias
Nicholas

I'm really unsure about middle names, except for Amanda. I'm rather flexible, I guess.

I would definitely go with Madeline.

I love most of your names. But Emily Isabelle is a sentence! Emily is a belle. Sort of cute anyway, though.

Your girls' names choices are very interesting to me. The only one I really like is Emily, and the others seem very different to me. Angelica will forever make me think of the bratty little girl in Rugrats. Bianca makes me think of another bratty little girl. Aisha seems out of place. Lisa reminds me of a middle-aged woman...probably because I have known several moms with the name. I know too many Amandas my age to really like the name. How would you pronounce Andrea? I kind of like the ahn-DRE-uh pronunciation, but not the AN-dree-uh pronunication.

On a happier note, I like Alexander and Daniel and Tobias and Nicholas. :o)

My friend Jess always tells me my namechoices are old and boring. I think it's because popular names in Norway have been very different than popular names in English speaking countries.

Let's take Amanda as an example - very common in America, especially for people around my own age (I'm almost 21, so I guess from 18-30 or so). However, at home, I don't even know any Amanda's. I met one once, a 3 year old when I was 14. I've always loved the name, but we pronounce it a bit differently as well. I guess we keep all the A's as Ah. So it would be pronounced like Ah-mahn-dah. Or something. Difficult to explain.
Same with Lisa. It's getting more popular, but most of the people I know with that name is people in their 20's down to 3 year olds.

I've liked Angelica for a long time. Never watched Rugrats, haha, but I've heard someone mention it before. I've always liked Bianca as well. Two very uncommon names at home, even though the princess of norway named her daughter Maud Angelica. Pissed me off, because I don't like the royal family haha.

I would pronounce Andrea as Ahn-dre-ah. It's hard to explain though, our E's a different than the english e's.

And yeah, I doubt I'd name a kid Aisha, but I like the name haha.
