Am I the only one who thinks of that when I heard the name Scarlett (thus the reason I wouldn't use it)?

I understand people just like the sound or like Gone With The Wind, or even Scarlett Johansson herself. I just can't shake off The Scarlet Letter for whatever reason.

I agree. If you're gonna honor GWTW (and by all means, everyone should b/c it's fucking brilliant), go with one of the lesser characters...like Cade Calvert or one of the Fontaine boys (or girls) or the Tarleton kids. All of them have great names, or hell even go with Katherine or Katie in honor of Scarlett.

I love the Scarlett character, in fact I think she's one of the most brilliant female characters ever written, but for the love of Pete don't put that name on a kid.

Actually Gone with the Wind would be the main reason I would *never* use it. And even if the character did appeal to me enough to use it I wouldn't on the grounds that my hypothetical child and I would both be heartily sick of Gone with the Wind jokes even before she started school.

I have never thought that, any time I head the name. I think of my cat. Then I think of Gone With the Wind. Then Scarlett Johansson.
