There's a set of siblings at my school, two boys and a girl. Adam, Aziz, and Waseela. What does everybody think, about the actual names and then how they go together? I don't really like any of the names to begin with, but Adam doesn't seem to go that well with the other two.

Aziz is prounounced Ah-zeez. I think Waseela is prounounced Wah-si-lah. Both of them have that "ah" sound with the a's.

Correct me if I'm wrong, though.

Are they a Muslim family? If they are then this would make perfect sense. Because Adam is a common name in both Islam and Christianity, although I think that Adam would be pronounced Ah-dahm in this case, with long a's.

Waseela doesn't fit well with Adam and Aziz, in my opinion. A name that starts with an "A" would've fit better.

Ah, I see. They sound like names that are prevalent in the Middle Eastern region, so that'd make sense.

Probably in the move "The Fifth Element". There is a young boy in the movie called by that name, in the first ten minutes or so.

Actually, these names all originate from the same place. If I am correct, while not all specifically Hebrew, the names come from the same root. Aziz is rooted in Arabic, I believe Waseela is as well. Adam, as most folks know, IS from Hebrew, which I imagine is where a lot of languages in the Middle East stem from.

Arabic Names

Arabic names with lots of cross over to Hebrew sounds because of the linguistic semitic roots and geographic crossover.
