I like Jasper (though more for a pet than a human) and Josiah for boys, Ada, Ava, Eve, Eden, Lark, Temperance and Emmeline for girls.

For boys, I dislike:
Asa (sounds like an old man's name)
Ezra (for some reason I tend to not like names with a Z in them - nothing against the letter, it's just a pattern I've noticed)
Adlai (fandom association, I'm a dork)
Gideon (No reason for not liking it, it just doesn't appeal to me)
Malcolm (I don't like the way it doesn't look how it sounds.

For girls I dislike:
Nora (bad personal association)
Keziah (probably the z thing again, and I think it sounds masculine)
Nina (I've never liked this name, no real reason)
Nyla (makes me think "nylon.")
Winifred (again, I just don't like it)
Nola (this one is a long story. There was a character in a book I was reading called Nola, and a plot point where she got seasick, and there was an ILLUSTRATION of the character TORRENTIALLY BARFING for some reason, and lot of gross sound effects in the text, so whenever I hear the name Nola, I think of that and get grossed out all over again.)

I don't remember honestly, it was SO long ago. I think it was part of a series about kids at camp, but beyond that, I don't know.

I love: Miles, Eli, Elias, Nyla,
I like: Milo, Ezra, Silas, Rohan, Ava, Carmen, Nina
I love the way those names sound.

I think Ada, Cora, Winifred, Abel, Henry & Thaddeus sound a little old-fashioned. Yes, I think even Henry sounds like an old person's name, though I know it's coming in style again (or so it seems).

I like the sound of Asa, but not how it looks. Besides...little children might turn it into Ass-a?

The rest are fine names IMO, I just don't like them all that much.

I know a Thaddeus. His parents were fresh off the boat from Poland. He has everyone call him Ted because he can't stand it.

I like Henry, Ezra (it kind of grew on me...) Thaddeus, Jasper, Eli (love), Josiah, Torrence and Cedric.
I like Ava and Sarai for girls.
I like Asa but I find it a bit creepy.
And Silas will always remind me of Silas Marner.

i like henry, everett, miles, milo, eli, elias, and silas for boys, and eden and emmeline for girls.

i don't like asa because it sounds like a nerd to me, and i don't like ezra because it sounds feminine to me. something about the a at the end, i know that sounds ridiculous though. i also don't like gideon because it reminds me of the sound you make when you're tickling someone.

as for the girls names, the rest just seem too, ehhh. idk. at the beginning they're normal and everything but i still don't like the sound of them, and then in the middle they're too uncommon for me. like sarai and selah and nyla and samira. i just don't like them.

i absolutely LOVE asa. its a name thats been on my list forever but kind of stays out of the limelight, if that makes sense.

i also really love: henry, miles, milo, ezra, eli and elias.

the girls names i really like are: norah, ava, eva, eve, clara, lark, nina and emmeline.

as for the names i really dislike and why

thaddeus - i think its extremely pretensious
adlai - i havent the slightest idea how to even begin to pronounce this
silas - reminds me too much of sylar from heroes, and thats a bad thing
cedric - the entertainer, is all i think of
torrence - just terrible

cora - i love the name norah, but despise cora, i have no idea why
keziah - what?
sarai - see above
selah - just not pretty
temperance - i know a girl named patience, and i dont like these types of names
carmen - used to be my favorite name, when i was much younger, but i dont like it at all anymore, i can only picture a middle aged hispanic woman
nola - as in, new orleans?

Boys:
Asa - Don't like it, doesn't seem like a name to me. [I know it IS a name, I just think it looks incomplete or something]
Henry - Love it
Everett - Don't mind it
Miles/Milo - Don't really like these, they don't age well IMO.
Abel - Cute
Ezra - has always looked feminine to me Thaddeus - Looks like something out of LOTR, which is totally fine [Big LOTR fan here lol]
Jasper - reminds me of Casper, the ghost, Don't really like it.
Emmanuel - Don't like it.
Eli/Elias - I don't mind Eli as a nickname for Elias.
Josiah - Don't really like it
Porter - Ditto
Adlai - Ditto
Gideon - Rhymes with Pigeon lol
Silas - Kinda like it
Malcolm - Don't mind it
Rohan - Again, Lotr!
Torrence - I know a few guys called Terrence, so this name looks sort of mis-spelled to me. Cedric - Love it

Girls:
Ada, Ava, Eva, Eve - Grouping this together, because although they are nice enough names, I don't understand the hype around them. I think they are nice nicknames, but otherwise kind of plain.
Cora - Don't mind it.
Nora - Love it with an h [Norah]
Keziah - Hate it. But I knew an awful girl by this name once. That could be why. I also generally don't like names that start with the letter K.
Clara - Like it. My names Claire and I'm kind of partial to me own name too lol.
Eden - Not bad
Lark - Masculine
Sarai/Selah - Never heard of either or these, I wouldn't mind if they were ethic names though. Nina/Nyla - Don't mind these. Prefer Nina.
Samira - Don't like it, looks made up. Temperance - Hate it. I think you'd be asking for a brat of a daughter if you named her something with the word Temper in it!
Emmeline - nice
Emmanuelle - Don't like it, too masculine.
Winifred - Love it.
Nola - Love it
Carmen - It's nice, I quite like it.

Wow, coming up with reasons I don't like some names was actually kind of difficult! But it's good to think about why we don't like something sometimes.

Rohan - don't like it at all
Torrence - eh. i prefer terrance.
Cedric - too harry potter-y for my tastes, but i do love it.

Ada - love it:) i like adah even more.
Cora - seems a little trashy to me. i've never liked this one.
Nora - love it, especially as a nickname for eleanor.
Ava - overused.
Eva - same here.
Eve - like it by itself, love it as a nickname for evelyn.
Keziah - not a fan.
Clara - love it.
Eden - for some reason, i love it, even though i feel like i shouldn't
Lark - hate it.
Sarai - same here.
Selah - and here.
Nina - okay, but not my style
Nyla - hate this one, too.
Samira - and this one.
Temperance - and this one. way too virtue-y for me. this is just asking for her to become an alcoholic.
Emmeline - like it better than emma, but i still don't like it much.
Emmanuelle - i dislike this one even more than emmanuel.
Winifred - eh, it's okay.
Nola - it's okay.
Carmen - not a fan.

all in all, i really like your boys names. we have really different styles of girls names, but i really like ada and nora and eve.

Girls: Eva, Eve, Eden, Nina

Hate reasons:
Asa - I'm sure there's some sort of history behind this (Biblical, perhaps?) but I really can't imagine a boy/teenager named Asa and not catching hell for it.
Abel - bad Biblical association.
Ezra - Like another commenter, I hate Z names.
Thaddeus - just seems a little outdated. I'm on the fence - if it had a NN (Tad?) it might be okay.
Jasper - It makes me think of a pet's name more than a person's.
Emmanuel - I just don't see the appeal.
Porter - I think of Cole Porter and I hate jazz. So there you go. :)
Adlai - Adlai Stevenson! Big time loser.
Malcolm - I don't like the "lm" structure in names AT ALL (other ex: Alma) and that just completely turns me off the name. I think it's a really ugly sound/appearance.
Rohan - Lord of the Rings.
Torrence - it looks like it's spelled wrong. And it's just a general dislike.
Cedric - Harry Potter.
Ada - too old. Makes me think of 19th century pioneer women.
Cora - sounds too much like core/corer.
Nora - too old. I also kind of don't like that it starts with No/Nor, both negative words.
Ava - too popular.
Keziah - I hate this one because it looks like it's one of those creatively made-up and mispelled names. It might have a history (I just don't know it) but I think it's lost because it's similar to other names that don't. And I don't like the Z.
Clara - dated. But I love Claire.
Lark - Tamora Pierce books.
Sarai - I don't like this one because I think it looks really ugly written out. The ai at the end just doesn't strike me as an appropriate ending for a girl's name. Sarah is pretty though.
Selah - Selah Ward, who I personally can't stand.
Nyla - looks made up, also; (this is me reading too many gossip sites) was the name of a restaurant Britney Spears ran for a while before it (and she) crashed and burned.
Samira - I don't like the sound. But if you have a cultural reason to use it (if you have heritage involving Arabic) then go ahead.
Temperance - too long, dated, and ugly. Also, Bones.
Emmeline - I like Emma. Emmeline just rubs me the wrong way.
Emmanuelle - same as Emmanuel.
Winifred - I hate this because it is 100% ugly. What girl wants to have "Fred" as a part of their name? EWWW.
Nola - Never seen it before. I'm not a huge fan of short names, too.
Carmen - I don't mind it in general, but only if the people using it have some sort of cultural tie. A Norwegian-Irish-American kid called Carmen would be really awful.

I LOVE Gideon, Miles/Milo, Silas, Eva, and Nina. They are all on my list too! :)
