Actress Cate Blanchett, 38, and husband Andrew Upton, 41, have welcomed their third son. Ignatius Martin Upton was born on Sunday, April 12th in Sydney, Australia. He weighed in at just over 8 lbs.

He joins big brothers Dashiell John, 6, and Roman Robert, who turns 4 on April 23rd.

Cate confirmed the pregnancy, after much speculation, in November. In February, she revealed the sex of the baby in a comment made at the Oscars. We are unsure of her due date, but as of April 12th, Cate had shared that she was overdue.

I like Roman, but that's about it.

Wow, I don't like Ignatius. I like Dashiell, though. Roman's okay.

Wow, can you just imagine looking into that sweet little newborn's face and calling him IGNATIUS? I mean, REALLY? UGH.

Maybe they'll call him Iggy or Nattie, for short. >_

Hopefully!

I'm pronouncing it ig-NATT-ee-us, though... is it said differently?

ig-nay-shiss is how I've always heard it pronounced.

Ahhh... wow, lots of speculation there on pronunciation. That's the least offensive.

Meaning it's the least ugly out of the possibly pronunciations... >_

I like Dashiell with one L, and Robert's all right, but Ignatius? Not a fan. I guess it works with the sibset, though.

I'm not a huge fan of Ignatius, but at least all the siblings name's seem to fit. I hope they give him a good nickname.

I think it's kind of a cool name. In any case, I like unusual REAL names better for the most part than unusual made up names like a lot of celebrities seem to go for!

I don't think her kids' names go together all that well, though.

IAWYT
Real names are much better than made up names (such as Apple, Princess, Peaches, Prince, etc)

The names don't seem to work because they have alternative/unpopular first names - Dashiell, Roman & Ignatius ... and common/modern (some would say 'filler') names - John, Robert & Martin

Yeah, but what I mean is that the first names are all unusual in different ways. Just like Moses and Apple are both unusual, but not in the same way.

I like it too. I actually like all of the names they chose.

Too old fashioned for me, but I think it goes well with the other two boys. Maybe I'm a bit nickname happy, but I think Iggy, Dash, & Rome sound cute.

Seriously sucky names. All of them. That's too bad because I like her.

I really like Dashiell and Roman. Not so keen on Ignatius (to put it politely!).

On a different note entirely, I can't believe her first son is six! I feel so old.

I completely agree with you. Love Roman. The rest...not so much.

You all are crazy! Ignatius is a great name, and it has biblical roots. Plus it has cool nicknaming possibilities. I like it much more than Roman, which is trendy and a bit tacky, imo.

Dashiell is also nice. Out of the three I think I like Ignatius best. :)

I like Ignatius a lot! I don't think it goes well with Dashiell (ugh) though, and Roman is nice.

I don't think that I can stand Ignatius or Dashiell. Dashiell does sound okay with John though; out of the three, Roman is probably the best, but I don't like the second R.

Ignatius is an okay name for a Saint, not for a kid. I don't like any of the names... poor kiddies.
