I started liking a name recently since last week they had a marathon day of all three Lord of the Rings and it's back on today. I really like Rohan. I don't know about for a first name, tho it goes beautifully with my last if I actually used it. My first son, unless something crazy happens, will most likely be William. Would William and Rohan be a good sib set, or because William is common and Rohan isn't, would it seem odd together? What would be a good name to go with Rohan, first or middle?

A bonus piece of info: While looking up the meaning of Rohan, I found out Bob Marley has a son named Rohan Anthony Marley. Seems a little odd of a combination for me, tho.

I actually really like this name. I had a student named Rohan and It was the first time I have come across this name. I'm not into much about matchy sib sets as my boys are Jacob James, Christian Matthew, Paul William, our angel baby Justice Cash, and our baby on the way will be Breaden Conner. So I would go for it!

Oh yes, I don't want matchy sib sets, per se, but I don't want totally different names either. Like, I don't want his friends to look at him oddly and be like "So... your mom named your brother William, a normal name, and you got this funky one, Rohan??" Hahah, but I'm probably just overthinking it XD

Ah yes! This is actually one of the main reasons I'd be naming him William. I love Liam, but wanted to give him a "formal" name, since Liam seems like a nickname to me. Plus, he could go by Will, Bill, etc, if he really hated Liam, instead of Liam being stuck with like... Lee for a nickname. I can't think of anything else he could use...

That's funny, just yesterday I decided to have myself a LOTR marathon! I didn't finish the third one though, the extended edition is 4 hours!

Anyhow, I love William, and Rohan is cute. Nice pair.

Yes, I always swear I'm gonna make it the entire time, but somewhere around the middle of the second, I need to wander off and do something for a couple minutes. It's just too long for my impatient body XD

rohan is a good name and noone will say "oh lotr" as they would with frodo / aragorn etc

I don't think they are a bad match for siblings. My name is (obviously) Eleanor, but my sister's name is Mary, which are both kind of old fashioned and traditional, but unbelievably different in levels of popularity (and religious connotation). Occasionally I'll mention that my sister is named Mary and get a funny look (like, "your parents named you ELEANOR and then named your sister MARY?"), but it's not a big deal.

Huh, this makes me curious. I know Mary is catholic/christian and pretty popular, but what would Eleanor be that it's a funky combination? I personally think they sound fine together!
