I saw a show on TLC today and two kids had interesting names, well one at least.

The boy was named Magnum.  His sister was Ciara (see-are-uh), at least I think that was the spelling, which is unfortunate, because that is not at all the correct pronunciation.

Does Magnum remind you of the condom?  or of Magnum P.I.??  Maybe the parents used a magnum condom and it broke while watching Magnum P.I.???

Magnum makes me think of the Ice Cream first [it's an ice cream in Australia, no idea if it is elsewhere] and the condoms second.

Magnum reminds me of the show, then guns, then a book I read as a child in which a mouse had an Uncle Magnum (I think--I was about 8 when I read it). Condoms didn't even make the list until I read it. I like it.

I'm guessing you're right on see-are-uh being Ciara, since I can't think of a proper spelling for that pronunciation, and I know a lot of people mispronounce Ciara. Sad.
