-lyn names? *

I am by no means having a baby, considering my age, but I love baby names quite a lot.
A family name of mine is "-Lyn."
For years I was madly in love with the name "Madelyn Sierre." Not Sierra, just Sierre. I wanted to name a future daughter that for years, but now I'm contemplating it, because Madelyn is getting so popular.
Another name I REALLY like is Caitlyn Brielle, but Caitlyn has always been a pretty popular, and I'm not the kind of person who's going to name my kid a name that 3 others kids will have in her class.
So, my question is, What other names do you know/like containing -Lyn?
Thanks!

EDIT: On Opendiary, somebody suggested Katialyn. That's adorable, but I despise the spelling. K's get to me. Majorly.
So what spellings could spell it well?
Catealyn
Caitialyn
Catialyn
Caytealyn

And, my mum's name is Leigh... does that mean a straight EE sound can be spelled "eigh?"
In that case
Cateighalyn?
Wow that's too long, lol.

I love the name Caitlyn or Kaitlyn, but for her to go by Kait (Kate)

just an idea

[identity profile] anapology.livejournal.com 2006-01-18 12:29 pm (UTC)(link)
That's like Mary Magdalen.. hmm religious connection? i would never use it because i'm really not religious.. but Maggie is adorable. Too bad i dont like nicknames as first names & i odnt like any fiest names that Maggie could be shortened too.

I have a friend named Jaquelyn. I think it's very pretty. I also used to have a friend named Daralyn, but I'm not nuts about the name.
Hm, what else hasn't been mentioned...Jocelyn, Brooklyn, Emilyn, Kellyn, Irelyn, Fallyn, Iralyn, Ellyn, Jolyn (jo-lin). I also once met a girl named, of all things, Allyn. Not saying I LIKE all of these names, but hey, you might! :)

i like the spelling katelyn, but you said you don't like k's, so... catelyn? haha i dunno. :)

[identity profile] turabiannights.livejournal.com 2006-01-17 10:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Wow, you sure have a lot of -lyns in your family!

[identity profile] krosp.livejournal.com 2006-01-17 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't think Caitlin is as popular now as it was 10-15 years ago.

This link http://www.namenerds.com/irish/Katelyn.html shows you 155 ways that the name 'Caitlin' has actually been spelled in official records! It also has a link to related names.

+The only one I can think of that hasn't been said ... Sheralyn

I would not through eigh in, unless it came at the end of the name - Kayleigh, Ashleigh, etc. Having it somewhere in the middle looks rediculous.

My friend spells hers Catlyn

[identity profile] estrella-jenita.livejournal.com 2006-01-18 11:34 am (UTC)(link)
Aaralyn has always been one of my faves... also Caitilin (Kite-ih-lin)

[identity profile] anapology.livejournal.com 2006-01-18 12:25 pm (UTC)(link)
I have to say, i dont like the spelling of Madelyn, though i understand you like it for the 'lyn' spelling.. i looks messed up to me. It's such a pretty name (the original Madeleine)

Caitlyn is gorgeous, it might be popular but it's still one of those beautiful classics. It may not be as popular when you decide to have kids anyway. ( feel the same as you do about K's!!)- i prefer the spelling Cate/Cait.. as a nn.

Adalyn
Avalyn- (Aver-Lyn)
Cailyn/Caelyn
Evelyn- Not Ever-lyn as most people pronounce it but Eve-lyn.
Jocelyn
Rosalyn- Either Rse-uh-lyn or Roz-uh-lyn)
Roslyn
Taylyn

K thats all i have!

[identity profile] anapology.livejournal.com 2006-01-18 12:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh- ps i dont like Katialyn or any spelling of it... the ones you have look weird! Katia on it's own is a lovley name though.

[identity profile] jenniferdunn.livejournal.com 2006-01-18 01:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Maelyn (May-lyn)
Kailyn (Kay-lyn)
Jalyn (Jay-lyn)

only names I could think of that I didn't see up there already.

[identity profile] scintillated.livejournal.com 2006-01-18 03:26 pm (UTC)(link)
My sister's name is Kweilin (or to go with the thread, Kweilyn). Heh.

[identity profile] scintillated.livejournal.com 2006-01-18 08:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Kway-lin.

[identity profile] neroli.livejournal.com 2006-01-18 05:35 pm (UTC)(link)
In each of the the names you list as phonetic alternatives to Caitlin, you include enough extra letters that people will be led to believe there is an extra syllable and the name is supposed to be said "Katie Allen".

[identity profile] neroli.livejournal.com 2006-01-18 05:38 pm (UTC)(link)
P.S. My cousin's daughter's name is Meilyn. Very pretty!

[identity profile] neroli.livejournal.com 2006-01-18 06:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, I couldn't tell for sure how you wanted us to say it!

I wonder if you would like something like Acadia Lynn (Cady for short). A lot of people really like place names, and Acadia certainly fits the bill.

[identity profile] whisperthewords.livejournal.com 2006-01-19 07:57 pm (UTC)(link)
I think Maiwenn is a beautiful name, and it's sort of similar to Madelyn. I'm pretty sure it's not too popular.

[identity profile] peach-rose-girl.livejournal.com 2006-01-21 05:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Cailyn
Jessalyn
Jocelyn

I like Magdalyn, but I prefer Magdaline or Magdalena. I also prefer Madeleine to Madelyn.

"Eigh" in the middle of a name is pretty awful.
