For a laugh i asked my SO, if he could name a kid, what would he call him/her? his response?

HER - Ruby (no middle name).
HIM - Logan (no middle name).

Hm, impressed, could have been worse. Feel free to join in and ask your SO.
My ex wanted kids called Dante Vincent and Amaya Cloud. Mhm. Men.

Amaya Cloud? I don't know, are you?

I like Vincent a lot. Dante is nice, but is so dramatic, I can't imagine actually using it.

Ruby is a favorite of mine. I would look forward to using it, but my boyfriend's last name is Brewer, and as I don't want any daughter of mine having to explain how one would go about brewing rubies...

He is definitely a keeper.
I love the name Ruby, my husband doesn't. I tried to persuade him to no avail. Now my daughter's best friend is named Ruby, I'm jealous.

Not bad, I've always liked Ruby (but it's too popular for me here).
Hmm yeah think you dodged a bullet lol, though Amaya & Vincent aren't too bad.

My husband likes Trevor for a boy and Jill for a girl. Could be a lot worse. :)

I like both Ruby and Logan. Does he not want his kids to have middle names or did he just not give it any thought?

My hubby suggested Mariborne for a girl or James Tiberius for a boy... but what do you expect from a Trekker:P

Dante, Vincent, and Cloud? Was he a big gamer?

I love love love love love Ruby. Gorgeous name. Logan is trendy, but not awful.

I don't have an SO, but the girl I like wants to name her daughters Madeleine and Evelyn (Madeleine after her grandmother and Evelyn because she likes it). I don't know about a boy name. I like both, but they sound weird together. I'd prefer Madeline and Evelyn, but she definitely wants to use Madeleine. Fortunately, she's straight, so we don't need to worry about compromising;)

My ex-boyfriend (heh, it was doomed from the start) wants to name his son Ward, which is his father's name and his middle name. I've never disliked it, but it's not my style.

A friend of mine wants to name her kids Nolan (after her friend, who died last year) and Lena. I think they're both awesome.

My husband is in love with the names Hailey and Celine. I, personally, hate both

Ruby is at the top of my list for girl's names, though the more I look around online the more I'm starting to notice how much its popularity seems to be rising. Maybe because of that Kaiser Chiefs song? I grew up with a (reasonably) unusual name that I love, and would like to do the same for my children as my parents did for me.

Vincent is also towards the top of my list for boy's names. I like y'all's taste :)

My SO seems fairly ambivalent about names. But then again he's one of about 439480941380483 Michael Roberts in his mid-20's. Mostly he's just shown approval of names I've mentioned I liked: Samuel, Vincent, Russell, Martin. But kids aren't in the works anytime soon yet.

My boyfriend likes Lauren and Dominic. I like them, but definitely not anywhere near my favorites.

I like your SO's taste in names.
Your ex's, not so much.

My boyfriend likes Morgan, Catherine, and Skylar. >.< I've tried to diminish my hatred for his naming style, at least in front of him, but he still usually gets a pretty disappointed, if not completely disgusted look. :\ I tend to like names that are slightly less...dated, I guess is how I feel. My favorites are Mariel, Ivy, Evelyn...

His suggestions are much better, if a little boring: Joshua, Jacob, Ryan. I could deal with those. :)
