What do you think of the name Miley for a little girl? - when you hear it do you think of Miley Cyrus or whatever her name is?

Middle names for Miley? Last name would be Proudlock. (DO YOU KNOW HOW DIFFICULT IT IS TO FIND NAMES THAT GO WITH PROUDLOCK?! silly SO lol)

I guess that's how bad Miley Cyrus is: it requires improper grammar. ;D

I agree that it doesn't age well.
I'd probably put on a middle name like Elizabeth.
Miley Elizabeth.

It sounds nice, and if she ever feels Miley is too childlike, she can start using Elizabeth which is more mature sounding.

Prn like Milly or Mile-ee?

I don't really like it. But I've never heard of Miley Cyrus.

It's Mile-ee. At least that's how Miley Cyrus pronounces it. Her childhood nickname was Smiley.

More like My-lee.

I really like it. I think it's interesting and has a nice sound. It's one of those names I have a hard time picturing on an adult, though.

I do think of Miley Cyrus, but for me that's totally neutral, since I only have a vague idea of who she is.

I'd never heard of Miley Cyrus before I joined this community, but now that's all the name Miley makes me think of (I hadn't heard it prior to that).

I only recently heared of Miley Cyrus, so now I think of her when I hear that name, but I don't think the name Miley will carry that connotation forever. I agree with [livejournal.com profile] june15 that it isn't a name that ages well, in my opinion. Maybe you could go with another Mil- name and call her Miley for short?

I like the name Miley, by the way. The original Irish (or whatever) spelling is Maile, but I always want to say Mail-ee, when I see that.

Some suggestions:

Miley Angeline
Miley Noelle
Miley Esme (Es-MAY)
Miley Diane
Miley Christine

lmao i immediately think of miley cyrus so i don't think it's a good idea. i don't think she's going away, really. like with how huge she is right now, stuff like that doesn't just die out. so i think the connotation will remain for some time.

I know its really weird for someone my age to say, but I actually really like Miley Cyrus. Its a good association for me, but even so...I just don't like the name. I can't separate it from the singer since as far as I know she's the first who had it. It wouldn't age well and it rhymes with a lot and it just sounds young and trendy, in only like 5 years I think it would be dated.

I think it would be difficult to escape the association with Miley Cyrus and that it would become horribly dated in the future. I know of several newborns that have been named Miley recently, so it seems to be trendy and popular despite the connection. Most recently, a friend in Ohio had another little girl and named her Miley. The older sister is Hannah. ::rolls eyes:: To each his own.

I couldn't believe it either. I totally thought they were pulling my leg, but nope. Very serious. Hannah and Miley. It was so hard to smile and say "How nice for you!" when all I wanted to do was gag.

I like the name Miley, i thought about it too but because of how big Miley Cyrus is right now, I think a lot of little girls are going to be named that. Especially if they have older sisters who love Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus and might get some input in picking the name.

I don't like the name Miley, even though I don't have a problem with Miley Cyrus. For the record, that's just her nickname. Her real name is Destiny. Naming a kid Miley still isn't a good idea, in my opinion, due to association. It's just too obvious.

She's changed it legally to Miley.

Which is stupid, because when she gets older and her music matures, who's going to take a CD stamped with "Miley" on the front seriously? It's very much a little-girls name.

She doesn't even have a decent middle name to fall back on anymore.

Well, Destiny wasn't the greatest name either. I prefer Miley to Destiny.

I always think of Miley Cyrus.
I also think of my car, which I named after Miley Cyrus.

I used to think about using Maile (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maile) as a name for a girl, but said more like MY-lay, because I spent a lot of time in Hawaii as a kid, and my Hawaiian jewelry is all Maile leaf themed. But by the time Miley Cyrus came on the scene I decided against Maile because it would be mistaken for Miley :P

I'm sorry, but I can't stand Miley. It sounds trashy and made up and totally reminds me of Miley Cyrus and other entitled teenage brats. Plus, I can't imagine it on an adult. :(

Considering that Miley Cyrus MADE THE NAME UP (she was born Destiny Hope but changed it) it's impossible not to think of her.

How about Milena, nicknamed Miley?
