Double names and family names

So today my friend and I were looking through my tech teacher and her mother's yearbook (looong story:] ) and there was a boy in it named
Alex Alexander
...Why do parents do that?



Anyway, for fun, here's the names of the people in my immediate family. Please feel free to criticize!


Michael Robert (Dad)

Shelley Reynolds (Mom)

Daniel George (oldest brother)

Julie Nicole (older sister)

Emily Kaitlyn (me!)

Scott Reynolds (littlest brother)


Comments on the names?
I, for one, hate my name (Emily) because of it's popularity, and I'm not too fond of Daniel's popularity either. I really wish my parents were a tad bit more original with me (and my brother).
Unlike everyone else in my family, my name does not contain a family name, or a name in honor of somebody. Julie was my grandmother's name, George was my grandfather's, Robert was my father's father's name, and Reynolds is a family name.

My favorite name of the bunch is "Scott Reynolds". Yours? Anything else you wish to comment on?

Not EXACTLY a double name, but I did recently watch an episode of American Justice where the guy was named David Davis. It's just silly, and unoriginal in my opinion. Alex Alexander is pretty bad.

There's a kid in my school named Muhammad Mohamed. Eurgh...

Yeah, I think Scott Reynolds has a nice ring to it. I also like your name by the way, but the fact that it's so popular these days pretty much suck.
