Like so many others, I am not pregnant or planning on have kids for awhile, but I'm obsessed with names, and have been since as long as I can remember. Here is a list of the names I like (most favorite on top)- just wondering what you think. Also, if your mother had named your sisters "Noelle" and "Juliet" and then named you "Matilda" or "Agnes" would you feel... I dunno, cheated, like your name was too simple or dumpy sounding? :o) Also, these are for both first and/or middle names.

Phineas
Hero
Risto
Xavier
Noah
Kael
Hayden
Doran
Maddock/Maddox
Peter
Arlo
Koi/Koy
Alton
Owen
Milo/Miles
Linus

Noelle-
Juliet
Agnes/Agatha
Viene
Matilda
Ophelia
Helena
Evangelina
Naiya
Valentine
Violet
Linne
Alida
Isolde
Orenda
Nell

my thoughts:

Phineas - it's okay. i prefer finn though.
Hero - this probably would cause problems on the playground&maybe with the boy himself. you could go for "hiro", which is pronounced the same, but is a japanese and i suppose more legitimate (for lack of a better word) name. i doubt he would get made fun of for "hiro".
Risto - reminds me of risotto.
Xavier - i like it.
Noah - my brother's name..before it got insanely popular. he'd definitely be noah (insert last initial here).
Kael - is this pronounced like kale/cale?
Hayden - getting popular also. i think it's overrated.
Doran - i like it.
Maddock/Maddox - okay. but makes me think of angelina jolie's son.
Peter - my dad's name. i like it. it's classic & simple. everyone knows it, but not many children are named peter these days.
Arlo - it's alright.
Koi/Koy - too much like the fish. i say bad idea. it's kind of like naming your son "collie" or "spaniel".
Alton - alright.
Owen - alright. getting popular.
Milo/Miles - they're okay. i like miles better than milo, but i like it better as a middle name.
Linus - eh. sounds like the name of an outcast/geeky kid.

Noelle - pretty.
Juliet - pretty. getting popular.
Agnes/Agatha - they both sound very old.
Viene - is it pronounced vee-ENN?
Matilda - it's okay.
Ophelia - it's okay. but NEVER use it as a middle name. it sounds like there's something wrong with the person. (think pedophelia)
Helena - nice.
Evangelina - quite a mouthful. i prefer angelina.
Naiya - pretty, but might have some pronounciation problems.
Valentine - i like it. you can call her val.
Violet - getting more popular as well. once a celebrity names their child something, everyone else hops on the bandwagon.
Linne - pretty & unique.
Alida - nice. i like alita better.
Isolde - i really like it, although is sounds like "is old".
Orenda - i don't like it. it reminds me of oreda french fries.
Nell - decent.
