Like so many others, I am not pregnant or planning on have kids for awhile, but I'm obsessed with names, and have been since as long as I can remember. Here is a list of the names I like (most favorite on top)- just wondering what you think. Also, if your mother had named your sisters "Noelle" and "Juliet" and then named you "Matilda" or "Agnes" would you feel... I dunno, cheated, like your name was too simple or dumpy sounding? :o) Also, these are for both first and/or middle names.

Date: 2006-01-14 10:30 am (UTC)Phineas - don't like it. It sounds like a breed of fish.
Hero - It's ok, I think I'd prefer it on a girl though.
Risto - Rhymes with Bisto which is a gravy thing in the UK. Bad.
Xavier - Ok, a bit pretentious though.
Noah - I like it.
Kael - Another one I like!!
Hayden - I have a friend called Haydn who is Welsh and I like it spelled his way.
Doran - Not one of my favourites.
Maddock/Maddox - It sounds like you're jumping on the Jolie bandwagon.
Peter - Ok.
Arlo - No, no, no.
Koi/Koy - Isn't that a fish?
Alton - Don't like it.
Owen - Like it.
Milo/Miles - I used to have a boyfriend names Myles so for that reason I don't like it!
Linus - As in Matt Damon's character in Ocean's 11? Meh, it's ok I suppose.
Noelle - quite pretty but not one I'd use due to the association with Christmas.
Juliet - I love this name, especially spelled Juliette.
Agnes/Agatha - I love Agatha Christie but to me it's an old, grumpy woman's name.
Viene - It's really pretty, one of my lj friends has a niece called Vienne.
Matilda - It's growing on me.
Ophelia - Don't like it.
Helena - I prefer Helena to Helen.
Evangelina - Yuck, no.
Naiya - It's nice.
Valentine - Definately not.
Violet - It's nice but reminds me of an old woman.
Linne - I read the comments and see you pronounce it Linn-ay. It's nice but she'd be spelling it for the rest of her life and dealing with mispronounciation.
Alida - Pronounced A-lid-a? It's ok.
Isolde - It's nice but again runs the risk of mispronounciation and possibly teasing as it looks like I Sold.
Orenda - yuck no.
Nell - Like it.
