I love it. I like Beatrix better. I love Bea for a nn. I know a little girl, I actually think her first name is Beatrice, not Beatrix, but she goes by Trixie and I think it's just so wrong...

If I find out on the 29th that we're having a girl, her name will be Beatrix, but I plan on exclusively calling her Trixie. My family does not approve, except for my mom. She loves it because of Trixie Belden.

Aww, thanks!! It's been my favorite name forever, but my family says it's just a stripper name, haha.

If it's a boy, we will be naming him Marshall Joseph, nickname Mars.

(please don't let Marshall become the next big name now that I've put it out there, haha!!)

Ahh, I feel bad for your little one. Or hope that it doesn't stick for when she's a teenager, for your sake, lol. It is cute on wee ones, but I'd hate for it to stick. Bea is so cute, though... Ahhh, sigh. You're killing me! Be a good mom =]

(mostly being silly, but yah know)

I pronounce it Be-Uh-Tris.
I don't care for the name, though.

I love Beatrice. I just have nothing but good associations. I currently like it best as a middle name for my favorite name, Catherine.

I pronounce it like everyone else does.

I think it's pretty cute, but I don't really like B names for girls.

Oh my god, neither do I. Beth, Bertha, Barbara, they're all so ugly and old-fat-maid sounding.

My name is Bianca :P I think that's okay, though!

BEE-ah-triss

I actually don't like it at all.

I don't really like Beatrice that much. It's too old-fashioned for me. I pronounce it BEET-riss or BEE-uh-triss. I used to have a teacher who pronounced it like the words beat rice.

i wouldn't use the name but i don't think it's horrible. i would prefer the spelling beatrix and would pronounce it bey-a-triss in that case and be-a-treeehhhhs when it's spelled your way.

Bee - uh - triss normally

Bee'triss when I'm talking fast

It's a lovely name, but it's the name of my evil step-grandmother. I could never use it.

BEE-ah-triss
and I don't like it but it's not completely awful.

I want to adore the name, but it's my grandmother's name, who is one of the meanest people on the planet. I've always said it BEE-ah-triss. My grandmother has been called BB, Bee, Baya, or Trixie.

Bee-Uh-Triss. Nicknames could be... Bea, Bee, Triss? That name always makes me think of those Ramona Quimby books - her older sister was named Beatrice and they called her Beezus.

I love it, but it's my husband's grandmother and I would not give his family the satisfaction of using it.

I pronounce it "BEE-ah-triss" but they all say "BEE-triss," which is awful and ugly-sounding.

I prefer Beatrix

Beatrice is a favorite of mine. It always makes me think of Shakespeare's Beatrice, "born under a dancing star." I pronounce it BEE-uh-triss.
