Grant Elliot or Grant Alexander

Dad is Alexander Elliot, Gpa is Dana Elliott, and GreatGpa is just Elliot, but I just think Grant Alexander sounds better.

Opinions?

I would probably go for the family name over the name that sounds better - but I agree that Grant Alexander does sound better.

I like both equally. One or the other might sound better with your last name. I'd probably go for Elliot.

In which case (and I'm sure you've probably already considered this) his initials would be GET.

I like either one, but Grant Alexander just slightly more.

I like Elliot better, then. Alexander works, but Elliot just seems to flow that little bit better, to me.

I like Grant Elliot.
Grant and Alexander both have the "an" sound so it sounds kinda repetitive to me.

I agree, Grant Alexander sounds really good, but love the big family connection with Elliot.

...Probably a totally useless comment as far as assistance. I need sleep.

I think I am rested enough to be helpful now.

Personally if it were me, (and assuming I got along great with my Dad) I'd go for Alexander because it sounds so great, and justify it with myself as honoring just Dad (as he's probably the only one still around to bask in it). Again, assuming you think he'd like that sort of thing.

I like Grant Alexander better. It sounds more balanced to me and it flows better.

I agree that Grant Alexander sounds better. Grant Elliot sounds a little off to me becuase of the repetitive t sounds at the ends of both.

Grant Alexander most definitely.

I agree with the above commenter on the 't's in Grant Elliot. I don't think it flows as nicely as Grant Alexander.

I'm also a big fan of Daddy's first name being used as baby's middle name. We did that with our first born too.

If there is ever a baby boy #2, they could have Elliot as middle name possibly? If we have a baby boy #2 his middle name will be after his grandpa's.

Alexander sounds better but Elliot doesn't sound bad. I guess it depends on how important it is to you and baby's dad to carry on the Elliot tradition.

I think Grant Elliot sounds way better. The repetition of the flat a sound in Grant and Alexander doesn't please the ear in my opinion.
