new here...
I am new here, heh. 13 weeks pregnant--I am expecting a baby July 13. Our baby is doing very well and I'm very pleased. One thing my fiancé and I could not decide on was the boy's name. I originally wanted Dorian Jade. He threw a fit about naming the baby if it was a boy, so I said, "Fine, but nothing stupid."
Here are the names we picked out:
Ericka Jane (girl) and Layne Dominick (boy).
We've been set on the girl's name for a while, but keep changing the boy's middle name...it's went from Layne Cantrell to Layne Reznor, and finally, Layne Dominick. Opinions/suggestions are greatly appreciated!

I like what you settled on for the boys name, I'm glad you've moved away from Cantrell and Reznor.

And Ericka Jane is nice too, but like the others said, I don't really care for the spelling.

layne dominick is nice, better than the others you mentioned. i dont like the spelling of layne though, its a little feminine, and it could be pronounced lay-nee (like the girls nickname), i would prefer lane for a boy.

if you were still considering tributing him, a very subtle thing would be Michael (his actual first name).
but i really like Layne Dominick! very nice. i love the name Dominic. :)

I personally think naming a child after someone in a band you like is a bit self-indulgent, especially if it's immediately recognizable, but to each their own.
Also, I know two people named Layne/Laine, both of whom are women. The name isn't bad - just something to consider. :)

and layne sounds feminine or just "lame"

Also, I'm a pretty stereotypical so being a big Gilmore Girls fan (see: icon) I can't get over Layne being a girl's name.
I love.love.love. Dominick though. I'd leave the K out as well....but that's just a personal preference and because my uncle and cousin just end it in "c" as well.
