So yesterday I posted about my sister who couldn't decide what to name her new baby, which is going to be a girl... and well I talked to her today and she miraculously has come up with a list.

Catherine Abigail (she is nn Catie) is her first daughter, so she wants it to sound nice and flow without being too matchy.

- Elizabeth Marie (they both love this name, they just do not know if it is too plain, so they are calling it the "last resort")
- Margaret Caroline*
- Alexandria Marie
- Marianne Theresa
- Violet Louise
- Faith Suzanna
- Jillian Isobel
- Emma Cecilia

*(they keep joking about naming her Margaret Rita... Margarita - they are so bad. But they have a dog named Nacho, a cat name Enchilada, and two hamsters named Burrito and Chimichunga...I worry about them)

what do you think of them?  If you could just mark which ones you like and dislike and why that would be great!  Sadly all of the names you see here will probably change... but they are just being added to the list of names that they are bringing to the hospital... haha.  Thanks

LOL, my cousin had hampsters named Caesar and House once... I think naming pets fun names is.. well.. fun. lol.

Yes, I love Elizabeth Marie... I think that it is very cute, and classy, and of course it has a million nicknames so as she grows up she can easily switch from lets say Lizzy to Liz, etc.

Next to Catherine Abigail, I don't think Elizabeth Marie is plain at all. Elizabeth is second on my list of favourites, so I could be biased, but I think it's beautiful.

Although not a big fan of Alexandria, it works well with Marie, too, and I quite like Violet Louise.

I hope they don't choose Margaret Rita! I know the jokes would come when she's older, but still... I love their pet names, though. I think pets are where people can be weird. I named my old cat Cadbury after the brand of chocolate we have here. :)

oh they would never call her Margaret Rita... I hope... thankfully they have Caroline paired up with that.

I named by dwarf hamsters Harold and Maude when I was little... I had heard the movie referenced but did not know what it was about, and when I did find out much later I knew why people always raised their eyebrows when they heard their names!

I like Margaret Caroline and Elizabeth Marie, I think it would go great with her older sister's name as a sib-set. If I remember correctly it was Catherine Abigail, right?

I'm going to rate individual names and not combinations. I like:
Caroline
Alexandria
Violet
Suzanna

As for combinations, I like Violet Suzanna better than any of those.

I like Jillian Isobel even though I don't like the spelling of Isobel.

I always thought that too! That is my middle name, but it is also the middle name of my two sisters, my mom and her three sisters, my grandmother, and her mother. It started with my great-great Grandmother who was straight from Poland whose name was Hedwiga, and she wanted her daughters and sons to have the traditional Polish names, but with an American name too. But apparently she wasn't that creative in names... so they all had Marie and Henry as middle names... with the Polish first names.

so now it is just a weird tradition. that i intend to break - but my first daughter will have Marie

I don't like Elizabeth Marie because I do think it's plain and too traditional, BUT as a sibet for Catherine Abigal - it works very well.

Alexandria Marie is another good choice, but I think Alexandra Marie sounds better.

Marianna Theresa, Faith Suzanna, and Jillian Isobel don't look right next to Catherine Abigal. It just seems off; I don't particularly like the names either.

Emma Cecilia and Margaret Caroline are okay, but I think they should expand their list.

I'd say Elizabeth Marie and Alexandria Marie are the best options here.

I love Elizabeth, and I think it CAN be plain, but it doesn't have to be. Besides, plain is much better than being totally out there. Marie works, but it just seems . . . blah. What about Elizabeth Caroline or Elizabeth Cecilia?

I also really like Margaret Caroline, Alexandria Marie (but again, Marie seems very plain), Violet Louise, and Jillian.

I don't like Faith, Marianne Theresa, Isobel, or Emma.

however, when taking catherine abigails name into consideration, i think margaret caroline is the best match! they would be catie and maggie, or catie and meg, which are both incredibly sweet. i hope you keep us updated and let us know what they decide once the little one is born.

as much as i love the names violet and faith, i dont think they sound all that great with catherine as a sibling. marianne is yuck, imo. and alexandria i have never liked. jillian i am just not fond of either. isabel is nice though, spelled with an a.

They are leaning toward Elizabeth or Margaret right now. I prefer Margaret out of the two of them. Oh and I will keep you all updated - more than likely I will keep asking for opinions!
