Giada de Laurentiis had her baby girl.

Jade Marie de Laurentiis Thompson.

Giada was apparently given her name because her eyes were the color of jade.

Hmmm....

...annnnd as she said, that's why Giada was given the name Jade.

In England Jade can seem like a chav name

Isn't Jade the English translation of Giada? Hmmm.

I had no idea Jade and Giada were the same name. Interesting.

I would have expected a more unique name out of her though...and definitely not Marie.

Hmm, that's interesting, because when babies are born their eyes are dark blue (all babies). They don't get their eye color until 6mo - 3 years later.

When my cousin was born, his eyes were brown. They're still brown, fifteen years later.

Just because babies' eyes often appear bluish at birth does not mean that their eyes are blue at birth.
