WDYT of the name Claire?

What are some good nicknames for Claire? I thought of Clara Bella (as a nickname), but I'm not sure if I really like it or not.

I love Claire, but I don't know that there are really any nicknames for it. It seems so short and simple and beautiful on it's own, so I'm not sure that it needs one, either.

I like Claire a lot, but I don't think it "needs" a nickname; it's too pretty on its own! Claires I have known have mostly had "silly" nicknames (eg, Clairebear and Clarabelle).

I adore Claire (it's my mom's middle name) but I can't think of any nicknames for it. That's probably one that you'll have to pair with another name and create a nickname.

Claire's one of my favourites, and I don't think it needs a nickname. It's really the perfect name just as it is. I knew a Claire once and no one ever called her anything but Claire - not even a Clairebear was ever uttered.

I can't imagine not having nicknames, but with a name like Claire, you don't really have ones that are immediately available to you. The ones that you end up using for names like this are ones that develop naturally, and you can't really prepare for them in advance.

I love Claire, only I would spell it Clare I think. I'm torn, because I'm a HUGE Six Feet Under enthusiast (Claire), but also a HUGE Time Traveler's Wife enthusiast (Clare).

It is one of those names that doesn't need a nickname. It's simple enough on its own. I like those names best; I don't want to name my kid one thing and have everyone call it another thing.

I think Claire is beautiful. It's even withstood the bitch test; that is, I know some total bitches named Claire and even that didn't manage to ruin the name for me (which is uncommon).

I think a cute nickname for Claire would involve her middle name somehow. Like if her name were Claire Elizabeth, you could call her Clara Beth when you were feeling playful, or Claralee for Claire Alexandra (sort of a bastardization of Claire Ally).

Well, if it were completely up to me, the full name would be either Claire Annabeth (mn after my best friend who had a heart transplant at 22 and my great-grandma Elizabeth) or Claire Elizabeth (after my great-grandma), so Clara Beth would be a possibility in either case.

I'm a Claire, and I've never had a real nickname [until high school which was basically among my friends].

My grandfather used to call me Clairabella, my boyfriend calls me Clairey, and my best friends call me Claz [which is a bit of a joke really, please don't nickname your daughter that! lol].

I really love my name, actually. I'd use it as a nickname for a daughter because I really really do love it.
