Mar. 30th, 2008 05:02 pmBrooke Burke and David Charvet recently had a son and have revealed that they've named him Shaya.
Brooke wrote in a blog that it isn't 100% sure yet but they're thinking the full name will be Shaya Braven-Burke Charvet.
WDYT?
Shaya looks very feminine to me and that full name is quite a mouthful.
BTW, their other children are Neriah, 7 ½, Sierra Sky, 5 ½, and Heaven Rain, 14 months.
Does anyone know how Charvet is pronounced?

Shai, Shia, Shaya
Date: 2008-03-31 04:17 pm (UTC)Shai is a name meaning gift in Hebrew. It is for both boys and girls. Shia/Shaya has been someone borrowed by the Diaspora community-- which I very much doubt this particular couple is a part of. It has the same meaning. My guess is that it originated from a misspelling and people ended up liking it both ways.
I like it, but prefer the other spelling.
I'm with whomever hopes it's not Shay-uh. That sound doesn't work for me.
