1)I like the spelling "Laura" better.

2) Donovan is my last name, and I most certainly would use it for a boy, because I am an only child, so it would be a way of carrying on the family name. Besides, I like it a lot, because it means something to me.

laura is a name that i really, really dislike. i think its because i only have negative associations with it. i've never met a laura that wasn't a royal pain in the ass.lol

it's my sisters name and i've always thought that it's a bit plain.
I don't really mind which way it's spelt, my sister's name is spelt 'Laura' though.

I think Laura is alright, a little boring maybe. I don't like Lora. They are two different names to me, because we pronounce Laura like LAO-rah where I live =).

i prefer laura to lora, but i prefer lauren to both of them anyway. laura is boring to me but i really like lauren for some reason. it's funny how a slight change to the ending changes my opinion completely.

i don't like donovan. i like it as a last name, and i understand why the first commenter would name her son that, but i don't like it just as a name.

I prefer Laura to Lora; neither is a favorite, both both are okay.

I like Donovan. I knew one slightly in school, and he was cute and always seemed nice. Not really one I'd consider using right off the bat, but one I might bring up if Hubby and I can't settle on anything else.

I love my name! I haven't met too many people who have it, so it's fairly unique. There have only been a handful of times when I've actually been with another Laura and it's gotten confusing.

I hate the name Lauren, mainly because my last name started with Kn (silent K) and I was ALWAYS called Lauren because people just attached the sound from my last name to my first name.

Donovan makes me think of the singer... but it's all right.

I like Laura. I like Lora if you're going to pronounce it that way, Laura is "laur-a" not "lore-a," to me. I know a Laura who's name was pronounced like Lora, and it gets confusing.

I don't like Donovan.

I think Laura is very sweet. I'd put it in the same category as my name, Claire. It reminds me of Laura Ingalls Wilder.

Donovan is not my style, it reminds me of a creepy customer we used to get at the bank I used to work at.

i prefer lauren, its much classier, imo. laura is kind of like the dumpy little sister to lauren, if you will. and yes, i prefer laura to lora.

Laura is ok. But since I've only known Laura's who were super duper religious, I carry that connotation :P
