Mar. 26th, 2008 08:55 amI've been lurking off and on for a while now, but especially since I found out I was pregnant. I have a girl name that I'm pretty sure I'm set on, but so far nothing seems to have really stuck for what to name a boy =/
Anyway, I've been really wanting to ask this for a while now. If we have a daughter I really want to give her the middle name of my husband's deceased sister. We met online and she died about a month or so before he flew to meet me in person. I've heard a lot about her and have seen pictures. She was beautiful, artistic, and she definitely had a wild side. My husband was 17 when she died and they had just started to form that bond that older siblings typically do, and he's been mourning her a lot lately and I thought it would be a great way to honour her.
ANYWAY.. :) On to my question. Her name was Eressa. I've never in my life heard this name before, and I keep meaning to ask my mother in law where or how she heard it/came up with it. I've searched online and in baby name books and I've never seen it, nor any other name that really resembles it, which surprises me because it doesn't sound that odd to my ear.
So, WDYT? (No need to be polite because of it's origin!) and if you've heard or seen it anywhere, let me know!

Date: 2008-03-26 01:47 pm (UTC)I never heard of it either, and my googling only led to an island mentioned in J.R.R. Tolkiens books...but the island is called Tol Eressea, not Eressa =).

I like it, actually. Over the past few minutes I've rolled it through my head and decided I do like it.
What were you thinking of to go along with it?
