babynames | (no subject)

Hi everyone! What do you think of the name Lily Elena (pronounced eh-lay-nah)? We're having a baby girl sometime between now and March and we're set on the first name Lily but haven't decided on a middle name yet. I've been through SO many lists and narrowed it down a lot but this name just popped up out of nowhere today--it wasn't even on our list! DH's fave before this was Lily Beth, so I'm glad he's over that one. Lily Beth is an okay name, it just sounds like one name...like it should be LilyBeth + a middle name, ya know? I really just wanted Lily + a middle name. I actually loved Lilliana from the get-go but it is a disaster with our last name, so we can't use it.

Anyway, tell me what you think! There are lots of middle names I think are awesome with the first name Lily; however, I've had to eliminate most of them because of our weird last name. We're scraping the bottom of the barrel here since we've eliminated TONS of names due to either personal preference or the name just clashing with our last name.

I REALLY like Elise but our last name starts with an "S," so the "ee" sound in Lily runs into the "ee" in Elise, then the "s" in Elise runs into the "s" at the beginning of our last name :/ I'm trying to avoid any names that end in an "s" for that very reason.

The E in Elena makes me think EE LAY NA maybe spell it ALENA if you want it to be Eh Lay nah. I dunno I like it though :)

I love the name Lily. But I think the y and the e clash. How about:
Lily Amelia?
Lily Olivia?
Lily Delilah?

I like it alot. I've had some problems with our last name too, I have always wanted to name my son Christian but my married name is Christensen so thats a no-go.

How about Lily Elana, not much different but it does flow a tad bit better. I still like the first one you chose too, just a suggestion.

But really, it doesn't matter, because how many times will anyone ever say her full name? I haven't hear my full name pronounced since... gosh, I can't even remember.
