According to People.com, Halle Berry and Gabriel Aubry have named their daughter Nahla Ariela Aubry.

I kind of like it, though I don't think I'd ever personally use either name.

I like it! It's out of the ordinary and at first glance it's iffy (lots of 'AH' there, if Ariela is pronounced AU-ree-ella and AIR-ree-ella), but it's pretty.

I really don't like the spelling of Nahla - for some reason it irritates me, but it's a nice name.

My only real problem with the name is all the A's. It's a tongue-twister. Nahla Ariela auditions audaciously in Australia. It also reminded me of the Lion King, but I don't think that should necessarily be a deterrent, especially if Ariel isn't deterred by the Little Mermaid. Even within the Lion King Nala was a good strong female character. And the spelling doesn't bother me.

So my end point is I like Nahla, just not with all the other two A-heavy names.

The weirdest part of this is that Nahla Ariela is pronounced GNAW-la ARE-ee-EL-uh.

Where does the gnaw come from? She should have spelled it Nawla if that is what she wanted...
