A couple at my church had their second baby this morning. They named her

Callie Sue.

Her brother's name is Robert Jackson (but he goes by Jackson).

While I don't like the name, I think I have more of a problem with the fact that the two names don't go together well at all.

wdyt?

I have a problem with the fact they're two nicknames.

Caroline (or Carolyn) Susan would have been an appropriate blend, for my taste.

I love Callie (it's my kitty's name!), but HATE Callie Sue. That's what my mother-in-law calls our cat and I hate it enough on a cat, but on a baby? No no no.

aww!! I love Callie Sue!!! are you in the south? it's really cute!!

I also like Robert Jackson nn Jackson.

They both sound Southern so to me it goes together. I'm also guessing they are more patriarchal?

I still like them :D

It's cute, but not substantial enough.

My cousin's daughter is named Callie Rae. Callie was actually our great-grandfather's name, and it is what I was supposed to be named. Somehow it slipped my mom's mind, and she (and I) have regretted it ever since. I'd take Callie over Brittany any day.

As far as I know, my great-grandpa Callie Robinson was fresh off the potato barge from County Cork Ireland, so I always assumed it was just an Irish name.

Unfortunately, I went to school with a massive girl lovingly referred to as "Big Sue". I will always think of her when I hear that name.

I used to like the name Callie until Grey's Anatomy.

I think Callie Susan would be so much better.

That is strange. Her name sounds like two nicknames, where her brother's are definitely full, formal names. I'm not sure what Callie could be short for, but Susan/Susanne/Susanna would have been a lot nicer than just Sue.

I actually think Callie is kind of a cute name, but tacking Sue on there just drags it down. Surely they could have come up with a better middle name?

Callie is my cousins name, and I've always liked it. Don't like Callie Sue though.
