I have been subbing, so I get some really interesting names!  Here are some from this week that I remember.

Evalise (I LOVE!)
Mazes (WTF?)
Trevyn
Tevin
Etheine (Ethan... hmmmm)

They all require some pretty intense effort to figure out pronounciation.
Or it could be just me.

I usually really don't like weird/different names but I really love Evalise too!

I like Evalise too, but Tevin just makes me think of Tevin Campbell, who fell off the face of the planet years ago.

Evalise...like Ivalice? I was going to comment earlier, but I couldn't remember why it sounded familiar. I like it, anyway, but with the Squaresoft/Square Enix association in my head, I don't think I'd use it.

Mazes are fun, but do not make good names.

I don't like Trevyn, but I do like Tevin. A friend of a friend just named her baby Tavin, which I also like.

I would never assume Etheine was pronounced Ethan. That's really strange. The combination of letters looks pretty until you try to pronounce it, though.

Yeah, I saw your note on pronunciation above, it's just that it's very similar to Ivalice, which is the fantasy world some of the Final Fantasy games and a few of the other games by the same company are set in. But then, I'm a geek.

I would have said Ethine or Ethane for Etheine.

Trevyn? Sounds like a Cornish village name. Ha.
