I like Lukas, but I prefer it spelled Lucas. I like Milena and Alena.

Most of the other names I don't like at all.

Please tell me you aren't serious about Jakub.

I have to agree. That spelling dooms the child to ridicule. Maybe Jakob, but even that's a bit questionable.

it's the Polish spelling.

It looks like she put together a list of names that are perfectly legit (even common) in Eastern Europe (I recognize Polish and Czech names). Posting it here like this with no explanation doesn't make sense.

If you just list them like that, people are not going to know they're from different languages - they are natually going to assume that they are misspelled. Many aren't even separate names, just another language's version of the same name (e.g. Jakub, Marek, etc).

Look at all the comments. All most people said was that the spellings suck. That's pretty much all you're going to get if you don't let people know that the spellings aren't wrong, just not English.

I didn't even see Jakub, that is horrible. I know a little boy named Jakob and I have a hard time with that too.

some are strange, in the way too out there sort of way (marketa, ondrej, radek). some just look like really bad misspellings (alena, amalie, filip, jakub) but a couple are okay.

I love Erika spelled with a "k." Very Scandinavian.

Milan is also nice.

I love Erika, that is what I wanted to name my daughter but it won't work with my married last name (Christensen). Everyone will think I'm naming her after the actress, lol.

Adela- Pretty, i like Della as a nn.
Alena- pronounced Ah-lean-uh? I dont like this so much, lean reminds me of meat
Amalie- I love this name, but only when it's spelt Amélie. I am absolutely thinking about it for my child, Amelia or Amélie.. just cant decide! Though Amélie will be forever correcting it from Emily.
Erika- Hate this name, i just dont see it suiting a baby.
Ilona- It's okay, nice & unusual. I know a little girl called Ilona Butt... & the l is silent in her name. I-own-a Butt.
Karina- Don't like it, sounds whiney.
Marketa- Hatethis name, it just sounds like market. Not at all feminine.
Milena- Again, not cute or feminine.

Ales- sounds like Alice, the female name?
Filip- Spell it Phillip, unless Filip is the way it's normally spelt where you are from.
Ivan- too german to me.
Jakub- Jacob, too popular for me, but i like it.. only as the longer version to Jake.
Lukas- i LOVE LuCas. definetly spell it with a C. Its my favourite boys name
Marek- never heard of it, dont particuarly like it.
Martin- Old mans name.
Milan- Its a place in Italy... not a name.
Milos- i like Milo, no S.
Ondrej- umm... this is just weird.
Radek- I know someone with Radek as a surname so, no.

Are you Polish?

Because if you aren't and/or you live in an English-speaking country, many people are going to have difficulty spelling or pronouncing many of these names.

Adela- LOVE!
Alena- OK. I prefer Elena.
Amalie- pretty but not really my style
Erika- ehh not one of my favorites
Ilona- I've never heard this before. I like it. =)
Karina- Pretty. I prefer Carina.
Marketa- I'm not sure about this one.
Milena- Cute. I like Melina and Milana more, though.

Ales- not my style
Filip- OK
Ivan- love =)
Jakub- I like Jacob.
Lukas- I've never been a fan of Lucas/Lukas. I love Luca and Luke, though.
Marek- I don't know why, but I really love the sound of this name.
Martin- Like.
Milan- I love it! I've never found any one else who has it on their list. =)
Milos- Could grow on me
Ondrej- not my style
Radek- Same think with Marek.. I love how it looks and sounds. So basically I like it. haha

So I take it you're going for the "honoring Eastern European heritage" theme.

I like Ilona (even know one) and Milena. Milada would be nice too.

I like Ondrej, but the kid will be forever explaining how it's pronounced, especially the ending J.
