(no subject)

Hey there, I'm not new, just an old member ((child_of_eru)) with a new name.

Anyway, at work ((Walmart)) today, I helped a young-ish couple with three young boys.  Their names were Trevor, Tyler, and Tucker.  So, WDYT?  as a sib-set, and/or on their own?

I think Tucker is cute; Tyler is alright, though I'd probably use the nn Ty; and I'm not a fan of Trevor.  That said, for some reason I don't mind Trevor with those names.   I've always been on the fence about using names with the same first letter for siblings.  My parents did it with us, well, three out of four of us, so I guess I don't mind it, but I don't know if I would name my kids that way.

I worked at a daycare center, and there was a little girl there named Tucker, and I really didn't like it as a girl's name, but now that I associate it with her, it kind of ruins it as a boy's name too. But I think I would like it better without that connection.

Trevor makes me think of the toad in Harry Potter. Tyler is a pretty nice name but soo popular.

And it's a really matchy sibset.

So overall thumbs down haha.

I like Tucker a lot, actually. The only thing that keeps me from using it is the possible teasing aspect. I just love the nickname Tuck, though:) Tyler is okay, but seems childish and hard to grow up with. And Trevor is okay, but boring. I don't like alliteration in names, but they're not horrible.

My nephew's name is Tucker and when my sister first said she was going to name him that, I hated it. Then I, of course, thought about the teasing factor. He is definatley a Tucker now and I love his name!

hate alliterations so much. hate hate hate.

and I don't like any of those names. I associate those names with country, "let's go huntin'" people.
that may just be because of where I've grown up, though.

not saying that country/huntin' folks are bad, I dislike the names for other reasons than that. :)

I actually like Trevor best of those three names. But I'm not crazy about all of the name starting with the same letter. I don't mind it if there are two siblings with the same letter, but any more than that is a bit much for me, especially since all of these have the same second syllable as well.

I like Tucker. It makes me think of the kid from Are You Afraid of the Dark? I'm a big fan of Tyler. I know two Trevors but it's never been a name I'd ever consider using.
