I've kind of been twirling this name around in my brain for awhile, and I can't decide if it's too "old lady" or not. What do you think of Milly/Millie?

I love Millie, always have.

i'm not really a fan. it sounds too much like a nickname for me and i can't think of anything it can be short for..except for millicent, which is very old lady to me.
maybe miller? although that seems masculine and too much like a last name.
or emily could work, i suppose.

millie is cute, but i think its better as a nickname, although i am not sure for what.

I have a friend named Emily who goes by Milly because her name's so popular, but there aren't many Millys around.

I like Milly as a nn for Matilda or Emily, but not for Millicent.

There is also Mildred. I prefer Millicent. I think Milly could be a stand alone name, because I don't think many people today would automatically assume it was Mildred or Millicent as they would with a name like Charlie/Charles.

I know a little girl named Tilly. I like Milly WAY better.

I never gave this name a second thought until a few years ago, when I met a girl with this name in my program at university. I really love it now, though.

I have mostly heard of this name as a nickname for something else, but hers is actually not even short for anything. I like the idea of using it as a nickname for Matilda, if anything.

I forgot, I like it as a nickname, not as a name alone.
I prefer the Millie spelling

I think it's great as a nickname. I'd used it as a nickname for Camilla.

I like Millie, but I wouldn't use it as a fn, only a nn.

I would use it as a nick name for Matilda.

I knew an Emilia who went by Millie and I like that. I think Milly on its own is a lot more modern sounding than if it's a nickname for Mildred.

i love it. It's actually pretty common here (England) amoung young children.
I know 3 little Millie's/Milly's and it's not a nickname for anything.
Possible nicknames it could be for tho are Amelia, Emilia, Millicent (I dont like this tho lol) and a name i heard the other day is Millyana..which i guess you could spell Milliana.
