My grandparents have said I am allowed to get a new kitten once I have the money. I've decided I am going to find a local breeder of Russian Blue's and will buy one of them.
I have a few names in mind, but cannot decide.

Chikatilo
Onoprienko
Pichushkin
Tchayka
Spesivtsev

I know that these are all last names of infamous Russian/Ukranian serial killers. But I have been naming my animals after serial killers/tyrants/detectives (police officials) for the past 9 years now. Nothing mental, just a little quirk I have.
My other cat is named, Ernst, after Ernst Röhm (a German military officer and later the commander and co-founder of the SA).
And my dog is called, Talbot, after Superintendent Bob Talbot, who was one officer involved in the Moors Murders.

So far I am liking: Onoprienko

You could name it Karla, but that's my love of John le Carre coming through.

Anyway, I like Tchayka. Spesivtsev sounds pretty cool too, but a bit of a mouthful.

among the ones you suggested, I like the sound of Tchayka (I'm reading it Ch-EYE-kah).

If I had to name something female after a detective, it would be Kit McGraw, from Nip/Tuck season 3.
She starts out as the detective in the picture, and turns out to be the series' villain's sister, as well as his partner in crime :)

If the kitten is particularly gifted in the teeth or nail department, she could be Kit McGnaw or Kit McClaw heheheh

My Russian Blue was called Mr'raowr--she could say her own name, but her vet could not. <3

From your list, I'm liking Tchayka. It's short enough to use daily without shortening it, and it just sounds sort of cat-like, IMO.

Onoprienko is pretty, but you'd probably end up shortening it for day-to-day use, which would be a shame.

My current cats are called Isis A. Pandori and Baba Ganouj, but only when they're naughty. Otherwise, they're Isis and Bababa.

Ha! I had to wright a short play once (I worked in a foster care program for juvenile delinquents) about a day in the life of a foster parent and I named every kid in the play after a serial killer. I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who noticed, but oh, how I laughed!

Pichushkin seems the most Cat-ish to me, but I think all of them are pretty cool!
