intro
Hello! I'm Erin, married for 2 years, almost 6 weeks pregnant with our first child. This name thing is going to be war, I can tell already. :) While I enjoy classic names, I erally don't want to name my child something common. I want to use something different, but not ghetto. Hubby likes (IMO) really biring names. He's not really into anything I pick, though it's unclear yet if he's going to fight me on any of them, haha.
Here are my favs:
Girl: Aubrey Joy, Mae Victoria or Victoria Mae
I would also love to encorporate my sister's name in my daughter's name, if I could, since we're very close. Her name is Allison.
Boys: Dalton Christopher or Dalton Matthew, we also like Tyler and yesterday I thought of Levon, but I don't think I actually like that enough.
Hubby keeps going with Sara and Shawn. Ugh. Sooo not creative at all.

Also, I would consider Audrey more classic than Aubrey, but maybe that's just me. Have you thought about that one?
I'm not really a fan of Dalton but I do like Tyler.
Other suggestions:
Faye
Elyse
Lillian
Sophie
Clara
Elaine
Helena
Adrianne/Adrienne

I'm not crazy about Dalton, because it reminds me of the premier of Ontario, haha.
If you don't want boring names, I'd stay away from Tyler, because it's really popular, and has been since the 80s or 90s at least... it's even kind of dated. But something like Mae Victoria would be pretty uncommon.

Yeah, Tyler is pretty common, but my last name is Newton and I think Tyler Newton is a rockstar name. :)
I'm really liking Mae right now, quite a bit.

What's your middle name? Do you have a nickname and are there any awful things that children did to your name that I should be aware of?
no subject
I have two middle names. I'm Aubrey Clare Elana. My parents thought my nick name would be Bree but no one has ever called me that. My Dad calls me Aubrey and my mom calls me a pet name that has nothing to do with my actual name. My friends call me Aubs.
Nobody has ever made fun of my name really. When I was a kid and people needed to taunt me they called me "Aubrey Bobrey" but really that can be done with any name.

And that's a stupid taunt. haha. :)

Allison is a pretty name too, maybe use it as a middle name?

maybe you could use Victoria Mae Allison
and Dalton Christopher

You could use Alice for Allison. I like Alice a lot. It's classic, but uncommon, and I think it has "spunk".
Some suggestions:
Flora
Annie
Claire ( really like Victoria Claire)
Violet
Eloise
Anabel
Etta
Rachel
Josephine
Bryony
Esme
Elsa
Viola

Maybe you could compromise on a classic name that's currently super-popular (Victoria's a good start; I love it), or longer names that could shorten to things he likes (Sara could be a plausible nickname for several things).

Arabella
Coraline
Helena
Vivian/Vivienne
Veronica
Ophelia

i like the name dalton, but its the name of the town i grew up in, so its always wierd to hear it as a name. if i could separate myself from that association, i think its a really great name.
