To all those saying that Jean is a redneck hick name, think again. IT'S FRENCH. Jean (zhawn) is the male equivalent of John, and Jeanne (zheen) is the female version. Therefore, Jeanne > Jane in my book, because everyone and their mother is named Jane. Plus, my Grandmother's name is Jeannine, and I think Jean is beautiful. :)

You really think so, even as a first name by itself? Whenever I think of Billie Jean, Mary Jean, etc., I think more "redneck", but Jean by itself, in my opinion, is very sophisticated.
