What do you think of the name Drake?

Twin sister named Aria, older sister named Myra. We're really having a hard time with the boy name. Drake was to be my name had I been a boy so that's why I thought of it.

It's my son's middle name I hate it. It reminds me of "Drake's Cakes"

I have good associations with it because I have a friend named Drake.

Interestingly, I also love the name I would have had had I been a boy, Brian, and the girl name they almost used, Blair.

It always reminds me of ducks :/ Maybe if you're questioning using it, make it a middle name instead of a first?

Personally, I like the flow of Francis Drake better than Drake Francis. Something about Drake being first sounds... harsh, maybe? It sounds off to me.

Yes, I know. I said I liked how it sounded, not who it 'could have been named after'.

Well, I thought it was decent until you mentioned his middle-name would be Francis. I'm all for naming kids after historical people, but...Drake Francis? Really?

Even if you don't mean it after Francis Drake, people will probably think it is for the rest of his life. I like both Drake and Francis, but not together, in either order.

I like either Chase or Chance with Myra and Aria.

I like Drake, but I wouldn't use it with Francis because of association

eh i don't like drake very much. it sounds really harsh to me. i like it on people who already have the name, like drake bell, idk he's some actor on nickelodeon and a singer, i think. his name sounds good to me but i'm not sure i'd attach it to another person. i do like chase though, as you mentioned in other comments. chance reminds me of a dog though because of that movie homeward bound. idk if you've seen it but i think chance is this old wise golden retriever, unless he's the younger playful dog. ugh i really have no idea, it's been so long but chance always reminds me of dogs now.

oh and i think chase francis sounds really nice, but chance francis is too rhyme-y.

Myra and Aria sound awfully similar. Drake sounds a bit jarring, to be honest.

I actually WOULD name a kid Francis Drake Lastname, but only because I think being named after a pirate of old would be Super Awesome, and then the Drake bit that sounds all harsh is relegated mostly to a middle initial. But Drake Francis sounds like A. history gone awry (and the "we didn't mean it" is irrelevant to all the people he'd meet who assume things) and B. the harsh name taking precedence over the nicer sounding one.

I've never been fond of Drake, sounds a bit...over dramatic and soap-opera-ey. However, I really, really like Aria, very beautiful (though totally unhelpful).

Honestly, I've never even heard of Francis Drake...and if I had I don't remember.

I think Drake Francis is a nice name, I like both and I think they sound nice together, kind of a new meets old style of popularity. I don't think people would associate his name with the pirate because 1. its reversed and 2.Really, how many people will know his middle name (outside of family) or people he/you decide to tell?

I don't like the name, honestly.

I'm not sure why, but I think Trent goes well with your kids' names!
