I'm not a fan of Nancy. It seems.. archaic to me. NO OFFENCE TO PEOPLE NAMED NANCY.

When i think of Nancy, I think of old women, nuns, and hardcore catholic women.

So if you're a Nun, old woman, or a hardcore catholic woman, Nancy is the name for you! In my mind of course.

Nancy is definitely not my style. I don't like the 'Nan' sound. It reminds me of Nana, which reminds me of old people.
I had a teacher named Nanci once, and I really dislike that spelling.

I didn't mention why I dislike the Nanci spelling - it feels like mixing an older name with a trendy spelling. It just looks weird.

It seems so 50's to me, but not in the good way. It reminds me of casseroles and fiestaware and mustard yellow sweaters. which is weird, because I guess I actually *like* all those things but I just don't like Nancy. I guess I could see it if you were a big Nancy Drew fan, maybe...

I like Nancy. It's the kind of name that, in my opinion anyway, can be used on any age. I have an aunt named Nancy, and I know a four-year-old as well as several older women with that name. It's pretty, but probably not a name I would use.

Nancy Catherine/Katherine is beautiful. Unfortunately, I can't think of any other middle names for it. (I don't actually know the middle names of any of the Nancys I know....)

I like Nancy, but only as a nickname for Anne. It does remind me of a woman around 50 or so, though.

I love it:) Makes me think of Nancy Pelosi, and my 10th grade English teacher, and I love both of them, so I've totally considered using it as a middle name.

It's not a name that I love, but I don't especially dislike it either. I can see it on a youngish person (Nancy Drew, and there's also a character named Nancy in the Babysitter's Club books), but also works on someone older (Nancy Reagan).

Nancy makes me think of Sid and Nancy. Undecided I guess.

My cousin is Nancy Maria Eliza. I really like it, but for some reason it doesn't fit a child.

Nancy is very '50's to me :D the Nancy Drew association is quite strong for me and I never did appreciate her books, so I'm not a fan.

But it's also the name of a city in France, and I like place names!

I'm not sure how I feel about it being a nickname for Anne, I usually don't like nicknames for names.

It also recalls the word 'nanny' to me, so I feel like it's more of a kid's name, I can't picture it too much on a serious adult (maybe a mellow housewife, that I could). It was the name of my mom's favorite doll.

But on the other hand, I would be very impressed if I met a poised young woman that changed my perception of it, this is usually what I like about old fashioned or classic names, the fact that along the way I come across someone really charming with that name, and the contrast is very intriguing.

I don't really like it.
It was my grandma's name though, and my baby cousin is named Norah Nancy, after both her grandma's.

Nancy seems old and waitressy to me. Or church lady-ish.
no offence, it's just brainstorming, right? :]
